Building Lines?

Hi everyone! It's been a loooong time since I've played and then it was only when I was bored at work. Now that I'm not around horses as much I'm playing this more.

I was wondering how many store horses you recommend getting to start with? How exactly does building lines work? Thanks for noticing my random question. :)

It's really up to you and how much time you're willing to put into training. If you have an upgrade, then the enter all option for shows will really help you save time if you decide to do a lot of horses. Personally, I like starting with 8 store horses, and once you get to the last foal, you can add new store horses to continue the lines. You can look at my page; I've now got 8 public lines, 8 horses each, plus a private line. I'm planning on combining the public lines later on. Hope this helps :)

I usually start with 4-8 horses. Anything more and I totally get overwhelmed and start forgetting to train. I also try to maintain only having 4-8 horses as the generations go by.

I do about the same as Chao. I'll add in more as well go or buy into lines if people are selling.

I'm with everyone before me. Β 4-8 pairs are pretty much the rule of thumb, along with supplementing with stores when needed. :D

Some players think adding in stores breaks the lineage or devalues it but I don't think so (and I don't think many other players think that) but if you wanted to have a pedigree with as little store animals as possible, definitely buy lines from other people and add them into your lines which usually means you should pick a popular breed.

^ Agreed sass! Especially becuase I apparently have a thing for rare breeds, there is just no way to introduce purely lined animals!

I add store mates for my breeds all the time and have anywhere from 3-6 pairs per generation. :)
