No More Scroll in Basic Advertising

As the title states it would be so nice to have the scroll gone out of basic chat. I can't tell you how many times I have accidentally over posted due to the fact of me posting an night before bed, and then in the morning when I wake up. The page doesn't need more than just a snap shot of what people are advertising currently. The scroll takes you so far back that most of the time what you are inquiring about is either sold or not available. Just a thought! |

Because of the way the chats are connected, we would have to then take the scroll out of every single chat? |

I don't think that would bother anyone?? Like tronic said at the beginning, by the time posts are down that far they are usually outdated or already sold anyways. :3other opinions? If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything. |

Because it would probably be taken out if every chat. Normal chat rooms i think would go way to fast seeing the window fits like 15-20 posts. with a full chatroom that may cause issues with posts disappearing too fast. |

Yeah, that's my concern also. BC would also be cut down. I mean, if people are okay with that we can try it, but it would make the chats hard to keep up with at the times of day that they're really moving. |

Could you add a link at the bottom of BC that links to an 'Archive' of a sort? It could show the posts dating back farther, but only for the people who wanted to see them. Just my idea... I have no idea how or even if that could be easily implemented :) |

With an archive, that would have to be updated on a minute basis, as chat continues. So with an archive, thats no different then just scrolling down? |

It would have to be updated every 10 seconds, actually, haha. I don't know if something like that is really possible since we don't keep chat records now? |

What sam and binny are getting at is this.. Think about when we are having chat parties, there are tons of people trying to guess the right answer so many times that the question they are answering would be off the page |

would it be possible to just make the height of the chat area larger? so that it holds the same number of posts as now, but gets rid of the scroll? Because in order to scroll down to the bottom currently, you have to scroll the whole page and then scroll the chat scroll... maybe it would be easier for people if they could see the whole chat at once with out additional scrolling? |

removing the banner made it so I dont have to scroll to get to the top of the chat.. but I still have to scroll down to get to the footer area.. but i'm on a macbook so maybe my screen is just small? my zoom is at default 100%..I just think it would be more convenient for the whole chat to be expanded down so there isn't a scroll in the actual chat part.. it would keep the same post number per page, just make the page look more streamlined... at least for my computer screen, it's pretty redundant to have to scroll the whole page and then click in the chat and scroll that too :P |

Ohhh ok. And i agree. For example im at default zoom (for me is 90%) and i have about 2 inches of background under the chat window. |

For most players, doing that would just mean that you'd have to scroll the entire page down, which definitely wouldn't eliminate the scrolling problem. Plus it would look weird since you wouldn't be able to see who whole chat box and footer. |

I think the idea of just removing the scroll and keeping the chat the same size is a good idea. I know chat gets busy from time to time, and we have the chat parties, but those are not as common as every day use. I'm all for every day convenience over slight inconvenience on rare occasions. |
