Selling accounts

I think it would be good If players could sell their unused accounts in something similar to the upgrade auction page ? I have a load of unused old account that were once premi that people may be interested in compared to the high numbered accounts now. What do people think ?

Accounts are technically property of HP (just like any game item is) and so players making real money off of them isn't really an option because that would mean that we are basically passing over the ownership of them to the player to sell.Also, what about players who would buy accounts with huge warn logs? Those don't go away when someone new takes over an account.All in all, it's too risky. |

Sam - they were talking about selling them for HPD, not RLD. :P Just like the upgrade auctions, minus the actual USD transfer.And perhaps the # of warns could be publicly displayed next to the account so that the bidders would know? I think its an ok deal...or maybe the admins can buy them back for HP money and sell them for RLD or HPD? Like theyre doing now for the Christmas auctions? |

Yeah I meant sell them for HPD. Would be possible for accounts which have been sold over the auctions to have warnings reset to the new owner or something ? |

I think LLUVIA and azalie have good points. However, I think azalie's plan might work the best. Because, that way - players aren't getting jipped and the account owners are getting money. Wasted space is gone, and no blank accounts.. |

Arosa- some people.have low.numbered basic accounts that arent being used...like me...so its just a way to get a bit.of extra money and later on hp can sell them so they in turn get used.... |

Did anything ever become of this? I noticed the account number I hope to have (which isn't even low haha) isn't actually a thing aka no results pop up. :) I assume it was deactivated. |

Shade, I think Sam will sell low account #s for an IRL price, depending on how low the number is. |

As Sam said, the mod logs do not wipe clean even if an account is given away so there's no way for a person to know what sort of mod box they're getting. Just because we, as staff, might know that you were given that account doesn't necessarily change the accounts history. As an aside, just make new accounts. Older accounts that are inactive are cleaned out. If your problem is that you're not using the account, I occassionally let people borrow my accounts for the upgrade time so t hat they can work on lines meanwhile I get shows, tickets, etc. It is what it is, but there's not really a huge reason for people to sell their spares since anyone can make new accounts as l long as they stay within the HP legal limit for basics. |

Oh thank you for that link! Yeah the account I'd like is actually a 5 digit haha. Currently deactivated/no results in a search. But I think for $20 USD I'd be better off just upgrading. :) |

I like having certain account numbers and find that it's worth the price to own them, but I only do it when I really have the excess money hanging out. :) |
