on the 8th day of Christmas HP gave me a choice!

the choice of making a paper garland or diy rustic christmas ornaments

I understand that this is a "work" day and not everyone has time or the ability to get the supplies needed for the ornament in time to complete this challenge.

since i'm crafty i have most of these supplies at home, but i understand if you don't so...

you can either make a super duper awesome DECORATED paper chain garland 

OR

make some awesome ornaments to gift to friends!

to make the garland you will need

paper/colored paper 

glue or tape

scissors

highlighters/markers/colors

cut paper into 1-2in strips. 

decorate as you want

glue/tape ends together

The Ornament

Basically to make the ornament you will need 

Twine… A lot of twine or yarn 

White yarn {optional}

White glue or mod podge. 

Christmas bells {gold and silver} (optional)

Plaid Ribbon (or whatever color you want)

Glass bowl

Balloons

Glue Gun (again optional for bells

clothes pin/chip bag closer. something to basically hang to dry

1. blow up balloon to desired size

2. mix 2 parts glue to 1 part water

3. soak yarn/twine in glue. pinch excess glue off

4. wrap yarn/twine randomly around balloon. Keep your string TIGHT!

5. Once you are happy with the outcome cut/ tuck the end under the closest twine string.

6. If you feel the ball is too wet you can remove excess with a paper towel by making quick but soft pats around the ball.

7. Hang the balls and place something bellow them so they don’t drip directly on the floor. Let dry overnight

8. once dry, pop the balloon with a needle and remove from widest twine opening.

*time to decorate*

9. Cut a small sting 6-8in and tie christmas bells to each end.

10. place inside oranmanet, this is how you make your ornament hanger.

11. Finally make a cute bow and glue to the hanger and your done!

*For Completing the diy ornament challenge you will receive 5 million hpd & 2k pts on an animal of your choice

-you have until 12:01pm on dec. 9 to post an image of a wip the diy ornament 

*for completing the super duper awesome chain garland you will recive 1 million & 500pts on an animal of your choice 

-you have until 11:59pm dec 8th to complete the chain garland

I don't have any supplies for the ornament. D:
I did make this for a friend using pipe cleaners, ribbon, hot glue, and snowflake ornaments you buy in bulk.

I made one early and just finished my "today" ones

as well as finished up my early ornament and my paper chain garland :)

ok it small because again i dont really have paper or yarn in my house lol -and yes it the same paper from the snowflake post :)-

The mirror in my office is more festive now!  I call this my faded candy cane chain. :P

When you're bored at work because it's raining and there's nothing to do so you make a pastel green paper garland necklace for your dog 😂

OMG Sass!  Your pupper doesn't look very excited! haha  I had Bristol at the office this morning.  I totally should of had her wear it!

So I've actually never made these before haha. I cut my strips too small. So it's a little one 😊 also, if you look closely I used special design scissors for a fancy edge 😝

 So I didn't have any pretty paper and I just got off work(ugh for the long hours) and these aren't done, BUT I wanted to post here cause I am working on them. xD but since it's past 10pm kids have gone to bed, so they will have to color these in the morning. I was able to get a bunch of these from hobby lobby before work and we are going to make them for family and friends to put on their presents this year so they will have their own to put on their next years tree. xD

I would have done the ornament if I had any of the supplies!  I would have had to buy everything but the water, bowl, and ribbon. :P
