How did you decide on the breeds you work with?

Hanoverian - Though I do not own one, I have watched MANY Grand Prix, FEI and Olympic Dressage events on live stream online or on television. I love everything about them! Their build,  their flowing movements and their temperaments.  Though, I prefer western, Dressage is an English discipline I love and have always loved. I have always wanted to own a equine farm with champion Hanos and what better place to do that than HP?! I also started this breed because less and less people are breeding them actively,  which I fear may lead them to deletion on here soon. This is my favorite breed along with a couple others and I will remain with them to the very end.

Friesian - I recently started breeding Friesians after I was donated one by the Secret Santa.  I absolutely love this breed and knew someone who own these beautiful equines. The horses were very gentle,  obedient and willing to work. I loved seeing these horses at work or relaxing in their pastures. I was intrigued by these horses and decided to learn more about them, I have fell in love officially with them and have started my own pair of this beautiful breed.

Finals killed some of my lines, but.

I stumbled on a couple people selling Saddlebreds at the same time and I love gaited horses, so I picked them up.

Then I added Tennessee Walking horses because they're my favorite gaited breed.

Started rottweilers because someone was selling a line and my boyfriend's parents both have rottie crosses that I've fallen head over heels for.

And I'm probably going to start some huskies down the road. My parents recently adopted one and I just adore her.

I began breeding Arctic Foxes partly because my ex and I were planning to buy a fox come time for us to move in together (which didn't happen, unfourtunately, because my mom says no pet fox. so now I'm out of luck. :P)  and partly because they're cute and fuzzy. Also, I didn't notice HP had regular foxes when I started breeding them. :]

I breed Abaco Barbs, because I'd like to dabble in a bit of everything, and the top of the alphabet seemed like a good place to start. xD I wouldn't be surprised if they were for sale... eventually.

I've recently started a couple new breeds..

Brittany's, because they were going extinct and they're too beautiful a breed to lose.

Shagya Arabians again, because my previous attempt failed and I will always have a soft spot for them xD

Andalusians, because they're SO pretty and there seems to be a nice little breeder's ring!

Mainly started these 3 new breeds because the training calendar has made my training life ridiculously easy and I had trained all of my Labs for the week and I was bored haha.

Pembroke Welsh Corgis: When I joined HP in 2009, the only two breeds I could stick with were Dutch Warmbloods and Pembroke Welsh Corgis. Gradually this narrowed into just the Corgis, and I owned the highest pointed pups. I ended up taking a hiatus for awhile and the lines died out. However, in the summer of 2012, I restarted a few foundation pairs of Corgis and those lines are now, once again, the highest pointed. :) Now I have multiple store lines on various generations up and running.

I just started up Akhal-Tekes ^^

They are such a rare, exotic breed. I'd love a chance to work with one in rl.

I have no idea what I trained when I first joined before coming inactive for..errrm..years.

I decided on Morgans because I saw Binny had a 3rd and 7th generation breeding pair that was too good to pass up.

Paso Finos because they're breathtaking in real life.

Selle français because they are such a spectacular breed in Real life. The perfect horse, in my opinion. Just as good to gallop bareback across the fields and play with as they are to win international show-jumping, dressage and cross-country events with!

I love standardbreds too and have some with the view to sell them later (or not ^^)

Oh lordy...let's see if I even remember all the breeds I'm working with lol.

*SEAs (Straight Egyptian Arabians) - Have always been a favorite breed of mine in real life. I also worked with them for some time on HL

*American Eskimo Dogs - They're a rare breed on here (I'm the only breeder on my 8th generation) and I like working with rare breeds

*Straight Spanish Arabians - I'm an Arab hoarder on here lol

*Border Collies - my second go at them

*German Arabians - bought them off of Freia

*Tiger Horses - because they're cool lol

*Shagya Arabians - still an Arab hoarder

*Andalusians - I blame Tronic

I feel like I'm missing one.....but that's the best I can remember lol

Andalusians (main line) - They have always been my favorite breed in real life, and when I am rich and famous I am buying a match set in RL for my husband and I!

Irish Sport Horses - I started these up as this was my last active breed I had on HL.  Plus I wanted more lines to add into mine.

AQH's - I wanted a super popular breed to trade lines with everyone, and I've worked with a TON of these horses. ☺

Percherons - I started them up to be a part of this: http://horsephenomena.com/viewpost.php?id=14783

Warlanders - I partnered with Freia to breed these because I breed Andalusians and Freia breeds Freisians.  Most of our foundation lines are from our project horses and other breeders.  It is also the breed we picked to do for the HP Mascot Contest!  Woop!! ☺
