Moving Animals

I'm not sure how well this would work but it seems like a cool idea. What if we could send animals like we do money? Where we select the horse/dog and type what account to send it to and then our secret password. I move animals around and buy a lot via my main and it can be a pain to have to jump back and forth between accounts trying to get them moved to the rigt account.

My only issue with this one day getting added into HP is as an admin, I know how often people send money to the wrong account even with the confirmation page. It be awful to accidentally send an animal to the wrong account, and you know it would happen. :P (sorry, I feel the need to point out negatives all the time. I do think the idea is worthwhile, but like with money, we'd need a policy of if you mess up and there was a confirmation page, you're basically outta luck) |

Yes it would suck to mess up like that. But on the other hand a respectful and honest player would give the animal back to the real owner. |

Add an extra confirmation page 'are you REALLY SUREEEE? THIS IS THE RIGHT PERSON???' ahaha, anyways I think it's a good idea :) |

LOL denim, that would probably help, but it would still happen.I think this is a great idea. I, like fare, have to move animals frequently since i have been buying/selling a lot. Adranth, you could place a disclaimer saying that if an animal is 'accidentally' sent to the wrong account, there is nothing the admin can do. The admin already did what they could by placing a confirmation page (this would be super effective if there were 2 confirmation pages, like Denim said.) |

We put disclaimers on everything and say we can't help you if this, that, or the other happens and people still do it, expect us to fix it, and then get mad if we don't. I'm with Adranth in that this could be bad news as far as that goes. What if you accidentally send your 5 miller to a player who refuses to give it back? But we told everyone else who ever asked us to help them get their animal back and we say no to you, even though you've probably spent months and billions of dollars on this animal. Then what?However, I don't really have any other issues with it as a feature. It would make things easier, I'm sure. |

I understand the liability of the subject and there would, of course, still be the option to sell it to the account but i'd be willing to take the risk and it looks like i'm not alone. |

Hey if the feature is there let some people use it. If you are scared of messing up that badly then just don't use the feature. |

I do like the idea but I also have the same concerns as sam and adranth...people accidentally sending money to someone who doesnt exist/is inactive/wont give it back happens way too often. Even I did it once...but luckily it was to a friend of mine instead of to another friend who was doing the upgrade for me (before auctions a longggg time ago - before the confirmation page i also believe). |

They used to have this back on Canis-Equus. You could manually turn on/off your ability to accept incoming animal transfers. Maybe there could be a block like that one sending to unmade accounts?   |

I'm actually way more scared of setting an animal to public sale instead of private than I would sending an animal to the wrong account.Then again, I actually read confirmation pages. You'd be AMAZED how many people don't. Trust me. Link Tree |

Same with me, Chao :P I aaalways check it like 16 times to make sure it's set to private sale :pI personally think it would be cool if you could have a "Payee" list like you do on online banking... where it has the person's info already saved and you just click a check box to send it... you'd be less likely to send to the wrong person that way.. but that would be pretty intensive programming hahaOr there could be something where you send a request to transfer, the person gets an inbox message saying so and so wants to transfer you a horse, do you accept? click yes and it goes through... and you'd have the option to cancel pending send requests if you happened to send to the wrong person...I dunno I'm just rattling off ideas because I'm bored in class :P I would like the ability to transfer horses rather than put them for sale though haha |

I like uni's idea of the messages because then you always have the chance to cancel before it goes through. But am deathly afraid of them for public cause its happened before where i set it to public by accident and someone bought it in the 3 seconds it was up. Luckily they understood and gave it back. |

It would also depend on where the option was. If it was on the animal page it might be faster, but I have the ability to transfer animals with the admin panel and it's still faster for me to put them up for sale, switch accounts, bid and come back and accept then it is for me to go to another page and copy and paste the animal's number and double-check that I have the right account number. I think that if such a feature is added, we would just need to put in the rules somewhere that animal and money transferring is at your own risk, confirmation pages are there for a reason, and staff will not help you if you send anything to the wrong place. :/ |
