Ukrainian Riding Horse

I can't find an association for this breed, but it has it's own page on the tourism website for the country of Ukraine: http://www.ukraine.com/blog/ukrainian-international-horse-breeding-and-riding There are also many entries for the breed online. It was established during WWII due to the need for athletic war horses in eastern Europe. It descends from the Orlov Trotter, Russian Riding Horse (now extinct), Thoroughbred and Trake blood. They are currently used for dressage and show jumping and resemble modern warmbloods. I don't know if this will help any, but if this breed is added, I will train some store pairs up decently and give them out for free to anyone interested in starting URHs. Anyone? |
