For those of you who don't know, my stock account on DeviantArt art is Notoriousflair.DeviantArt.com, previously Notorious-Stock.

So unfortunately my frustration with many of the people on DeviantArt has reached its boiling point and I am seriously considering deleting all of my stock. Way to many people are breaking my rules, which I feel are fairly simple, and I'm tired of it... I'm tired of spending hours photographing horses and editing pictures, for them to be used improperly by artists not crediting me, sending me a link to their work, or using the image to portray the horse in a grusom manner. I'm also tired of people not reading my rules about commissions and making $30-$60 an image and giving me nothing, which is against my rules.. so yea I don't want to rant about this forever. I love offering stock for those who use it right. For the longest time the only SIM site that could use my stock was HP because images can't be sold for real money and credit always has to be on the image. I've only once had an issue with an image I found here on HP that hadn't followed my rules, but it was an honest mistake and the person fixed it immediately.

I guess I wish HP had its own section where members could upload stock that other players could use on HP only. This is something I would happily contribute to.

Anyway... I wanted to give you all a heads up so you can go download some of my stock before it's gone. I'm still somewhat on the fence about what I'm going to do, but something has to change. The only other option I feel I have, besides removing all my stock, is to start charging points for use, but I hate to do that as there are a lot of people who don't make money off their art and I don't feel it's really fair to them.... So we shall see...

One, that sucks and I hate people. 

Two, that's not a bad idea, actually, to have a section on the forum here for our stock providers to start a thread. You could upload it to da stash or something to keep it private or anything else. Keep your own gallery.

Sorry to hear about your frustrations with people not following your stock rules. :( Your stock is a wonderful resource and DA and HP users alike are fortunate to have access to it. 

Would be great if we had an HP specific gallery! We already have a DA group where some people have uploaded stock. Wonder if that could live here on HP instead?

But, I also think that it would be a great idea to have our own HP specific gallery right here on the website. I think that would help with crediting photos and them being credited properly and so on so forth. I'm not sure how feasible it would be BUT ... that could be another good way to get people on the site. Having stock here ya know? 

:( That sucks. I'm really sorry. But yeah Chao has a good idea in that you can make it all private as part of your stash and possibly have some links for others on HP to use. I also think it would be really cool to have something going on here for players to share their stock exclusively with people in game if they want. :)

I support the stash idea as well. Anyone can make one and if someone wanted to make a master list post as well it would be easy to maintain

I also agree that it would be awesome to have our own stock images here on the site to use. Just give credit to whichever player provided the stock!

Well in the end I decided I am going to start charging points for my stock, to see if that changes things. I will also give people a chance to message me if they can't afford to buy an image. So at least that way I can find out what they plan on using the image for and where it will be used.

But yes I still wish we could just upload stock straight to HP. I realize some might think this makes the site more cluttered, but I don't think it would really be any different than the image bank we have for horses and dogs. But I still feel like Sam will likely shoot this idea down anyway and that is kind of a bummer... :-/

Hopefully that helps you out. I know I personally don't use stock that cost or required me to ask for an unmarked copy, I simply don't allow time for that and I'm not selling for RLD. But if you're having people sell against your rules then you have to do what's right for you. 

Yea I can understand that Trig. Which is why at least for me it would be nice to just be able to upload some here. Honestly I think I'm kinda over the whole DA stock thing and I will probably just delete everything. 

I could maybe stash them and post a link somewhere here but I feel it would be unnecessary to do it in a forum post as the posy might get lost, and I don't like that people can view the forum post without being logged in.

Im currently going through a years worth of notifications.

BUT I always find that the people that do the right thing outweight the annoying people that dont.

You could put the stash link on your page so that it's only viewable to players, just thinking of ideas for everyone C;

I ended up just putting everything in storage. I think I'm going to take a break from offering stock for awhile.

Was wondering, would it be possible to have players here on HP private message or email you directly for specific stock *breed of horse or dog* that they are interested in? 

That way you could send select files and have a way to track who is getting what image.

For now I'm going to say no to that. I have about 30,000 photos total and it would take too long to go through them to find photos for people. I might offer stock again once I'm done with school.

Yes that is fine. If it was possible to upload stock directly to HP I probably would add some... :-/
