Hey HPers! My girl Whiski is in training to get ready for actual riding then after that, trails! *excited* but heres the story that goes with that and why I'm posting this.. The lady that owns the stables I board at agreed to help me with training since she did train most of her amazing horses and I'm so happy about it but she is using her off days to work on my horse with me and trying to show me some stuff (I am just not getting some of either) and I feel bad when she could be riding all her horses that needs to be ridden or doing what ever she needs to do.. she an amazing person though, very nice! So this is where this post comes in.. I need any suggest training tips, books , videos and what ever else to help me learn how to work on my girl by myself or if the lady isnt there I can still keep working on her , I really want to get her training 3-4 times a week so I can get her going for trail training but 1st knowing leg pressures and backing up from saddle and mounting staying still, etc all that is well known! I do want to teach her tricks , what some cool tricks your horse can do? Just interested :PDo keep in mind , I cant pay for anything as of right now /:Thanks!-Navi |

I also have a horse in training, haha. And sometimes I'm just lost as to WHAT to do with him. I know a lot about under saddle training, but groundwork, not so much.I went to the tack store to buy some books, which has helped me. You said you can't pay for anything, so a library might be good. Or you can look on Amazon since sometimes you can get those books for like $0.99 used. |
