Bank Money

With how much this game has grown lately, I'm surprised the amount we receive weekly hasn't increased much. One single horse ticket goes for 400k nowadays, and if you're upgraded, that's what you get a week. Basic players only get 75k. Say they have 4 dogs (what people normally start with) and they enter them into 80 shows with a 2k entry fee. That's 160k alone, just for 1 dog. For all 4 640k. Which would be impossible to do with one account. Sure, they can have up to 5 accounts, but it's still a very small amount of HPD, compared to what things sell for lately.Obviously with the more money out on the game, prices would go up. However, I think a subtle, decent change wouldn't spike prices, plus make things a bit easier, especially for basic players. Like 500k for basic and 1 mil for upgraded? What are your thoughts on this?

I think that would inflate the prices, being upgraded members would end up getting 1mill a week.It would take a while for the effect to actually happen, but it would eventually.I think a slight increase wouldn't be bad, like maybe 500k for upgraded members and 100k for basics, but the extra bank money gets people to buy upgrades(at least it was a factor for me)and I don't think this would work. With the one week upgrade(they still do those right?) for new players it does give them some extra playing cash.It wouldn't be a bad idea...I guess both bad and good perks even this out.I'm sort of 50/50 on this :P.

I didn't know about the one week upgrade! I guess that gives them a pretty good start with ticket sales and shows. Idk, it just seems silly when I go to be bank and collect only 400k. I agree though, too much of an increase would defeat the purpose altogether. I think anymore than 1 mil for upgraded players would probably do that. Possibly even 200k for basics and 800k for upgrades?

We can't add more money to the game right now, sorry! We're adding in ways to take money out, but more money is still coming in then is going out.

If anything, I would support an increase in bank for basic players and a decrease for upgraded players.. say 150k for basics and 300k for upgraded players. So there would be about the same amount/slightly less money going in (450k vs. the current 475k per week) ...but I think most of the upgraded players would dislike this :p

I like Uni's idea of the increase for basics / decrease for upgrades.. I don't think most upgraded players are dependent on their weekly salary from the bank, as their income is mostly coming from shows and tickets, plus whatever services they offer. 150k/300k seems pretty fair to me - that's still a substantial difference between the two account types (since the increased salary is an upgrade "perk"), but I think it would really help basic players..It is pretty hard to get a good start on HP with just a basic (or even five). When I joined HP, I upgraded within a matter of days because I knew there was no way for me to do what I wanted on here without the upgrade benefits (boarding, extra cashflow from tickets and shows, etc.). I sort-of keep track of the money on my coding basics that comes in from the weekly salary/show entry fees, and it takes FOREVER for money to accumulate. As Silhouette pointed out, most of your money (as a basic) would go toward training, so things like graphics/coding/etc. are almost out of the question unless you do it yourself or find someone who really likes you..

Bad idea :( Then the new players wouldn't upgrade to get the perks of the game. It's already easy enough to play as a basic (when it shouldn't be). They'd more than likely have to be really good with graphics to be able to get $ on here.

I think the other upgrade perks (breed specialty bonuses, private shows, tickets, ability to create associations, etc.) far outweigh the bank salary increase, but that's just me. I don't think it's "easy" to play as a basic - and I STRONGLY disagree with the comment that anything "shouldn't be" easy or that the main elements of HP should be less accessible to basic players. You should be able to play and enjoy HP at both account levels. The upgrade perks are meant to make things a little easier (because you're paying real money), but they are not the standard of the game and (IMO) should not be thought of that way.

I 100% agree with Misa. If you make it 'hard' for basic players to do anything, then they are just going to quit. Not everybody had money to spend on a Sim game. It still needs to be playable and enjoyable for someone starting out.

You don't get a free upgrade on new accounts. I didn't. I had to enter contests to get my money. My breed specialty still gives me perks of double points. Just not the full perks of an upgrade. I use about 2.5 mill to train what I have for horses a week. But with the bank money and my shows I make that back. So I am kinda at a stalemate right now.

It's not new accounts, it's new players. /totally not on topicBut regardless, like I said, I don't see the bank amounts changing anytime soon. It's possible for basics to train animals, train, etc. with what they have. I'm not saying it's easy, but it's definitely possible. -shrug-

Easy is the word here...shouldn't be easy or should be easy...whatever. What I was posting isn't written in stone anywhere. Just my opinion that if they wanted it "easier" to play, they should upgrade or it won't be as easy to play without the perks (therefore, it shouldn't be as easy to play as an upgraded player) dur ^_^

I was a new player. I didn't have a week of free upgrade.

Looking at your account number, you joined after it was added (assuming this is the account you first joined on), but "new" players are counted by the IP address, so it must be a totally new IP address. In other words, if you joined way back when HP first opened or something, you wouldn't have gotten the trial upgrade this time around. If you still think you should have gotten it, message me!

I agree with lowering upgrade bank and increase basic players. I can't make graphics so I rely on selling upgrades and tickets (but last several months I have been using the tickets myself) to make my money-but to get well over 2mill points on a single animal I have spend well over 500mill if not more. And graphics selling for so much-250Mill for a layout? 50Mill for a graphic? seems ridiciously high. But in fairness the graphics that sell that high are REALLLY NICE and gorgeous and I have spend that much on a beautiful layout. but not many players can afford that.

In order for me to make a graphic that sells for around 250-400mill, In most cases I have about 6-8 hours of work into it, really nice graphics sell for around 50mill also have a decent amount of work into them and are often worth it. In my opinion too many good graphic artists on here are not making enough, whether or not most players can afford it or not. You are paying for someone's art work, and it's valuable. It is hard to afford 250mill on a layout, but then you have to accept you might have to sell an upgrade with real money to get one. I have found many, many great manipulators who have made graphics/coded layouts for me for around 10mill. You just have to be willing to trade and make deals with people other than money.
