oOkay so they don't actually exist. BUT.

They were going to. Back in WWII, the Nazis collected/rescued a bunch of Lippizaners, Thoroughbreds, and Arabians and planned to breed them to create the master equine race (the majority were Lippizaners). They were kept at a place called Holstau in Czechoslovakia, and were rescued by the U.S. before the breed could be fully created. (Side fact: a number of rescued Lippizaner offspring were not recognized for their pedigrees and were actually put down by the American Jocky Club).

Anyways, I was thinking about what a beautiful breed a cross between these horses would be, and thought they might make a great cash shop breed at least? Since they don't actually exist.

I'm not sure on the name, but I was thinking one of the following: Holstau Horse, Holstauer, Holstauberg or Holstauberger.

What an interesting piece of history.  I had no idea!  I unfortunately don't have a lot of time on my hands to start a new breed, but what a cool concept!

I'm not into horses right now, but I think it'd be a good addition to the game. I think "Holstauer" would be a good name!

There is a book! It's called The Perfect Horse, I saw it at the bookstore and got curious and that's where this came from lol.

Color possibilities, I'm thinking predominantly gray since the Lippizaner contributes the most the breed and it's dominant color gene is gray. But all three breeds also come in bay, so bay and chestnut and black can be accepted? I'm not an expert on equine color genetics, so I don't know how well that would work. I'm thinking there would also be some dappling in the breed? Anyone else have any ideas?
