The Hanoverian Connection

Bringing The Hanoverian Sporthorse To The Front Lines of HP

The Hanoverian Horse

The original proto-Hanoverian horses existed in 16th century Europe and were predominantly used as heavier military and agricultural harness horses. As farmers began to include Thoroughbred, Holsteiner, and Cleveland Bay blood, the domestic breed was refined and their purpose shifted to carriage horses and military mounts. After World War II, the breed was once more restructured. They were refined further with Thoroughbred influence as well as with the introduction of light warmbloods such as Trakehners. This produced the contemporary Hanoverian: a noble, athletic, robust all-around warmblood sporthorse which is among the most successful breeds worldwide. Their international success in sport transcends the Olympic equestrian events of eventing, showjumping, and dressage and their popularity as pleasure horses is ever-increasing due to their desirable temperament, correct conformation, and effortless adaptability to a multitude of disciplines. They may also be seen in combined driving and hunter/jumper competitions.

HEIGHT: 15.3 - 17.2 hands

WEIGHT: 1200-1500 pounds

COAT COLORS: Traditional colors include chestnut, bay, black, and grey. Dark horses are favored. Palomino and cremello horses are often blocked from registry in Europe, but the gene is more widely accepted in North America. Pinto coat patterns are undesirable, though the sabino gene does run in the breed – it is permitted, but not preferred.

MARKINGS: White markings may be found on the face and/or legs, however solid horses are preferred and regulations discourage white in excess. An occasional “belly spot” is accepted due to the sabino gene.

CONFORMATION: Hanoverians are robust warmbloods with long necks, medium-sized heads, and large sloping shoulders. The hindquarters should be muscular with a flat croup capable of producing significant impulsion, and the legs should have good bone length below the knees and hocks. The body should look elegant and naturally well-balanced.

The Breed Ambassador Connection

Do you want to become one of HP's Hanoverian horse breeders? My BREED AMBASSADOR LINE of Hanoverian warmbloods is open for business!

HOW IT WORKS:

1) If you are a new player to HP and have been playing the game for less than 2 months, the current pair of "Breed Ambassador Line" horses is yours for $1 each if you agree to continue training the pair, breed them when it is time, and become an active Hanoverian breeder on HP! Only one breeding pair per new HP member, please.

2) If you are not a new player (and have no Hanoverians on HP, including retired lines) but are considering adding Hanoverians to your herd, you may purchase the current "Breed Ambassador Line" breeding pair for $1 million ($500k/animal). This is a one-time offer; once you have purchased your discounted animals, only backup foals will be sold to you for a reasonable price.

3) If a "Breed Ambassador Line" pair is still in my posession by breeding age, I will breed them and place the foal for sale. This foal will be available to anyone interested. If the foal does not sell, I will purchase it a mate at 3 years old and continue the Breed Ambassador line.

4) I will keep all unsold horses in my lines by default. If you wish to purchase a foal and also wish to own the full bloodline, message me and we will work out a deal. All "Breed Ambassador Line" horses beyond the first breeding pair will be branded "ROUX BAL" to differentiate them from my personal lines, which are marked "ROUX" for their brand.

TO CLAIM: Please place a bid on the horses desired within the "Breed Ambassador Line" on my page and send me a message describing how you fit within the guidelines of the offer you wish to claim.

I've been tossing around the idea of adding another warmblood to my list of animals. And I adore the Hano :3
