Coming Soon: Achievements!

Hey HP! We're very excited to announce a brand-new feature to HP :). It's not here yet, but soon it will be so we wanted to make an announcement! Lots of players have mentioned to us how they would like a secondary-goal on the game (in other words, something to work towards that isn't necessarily training your horses and dogs). Which, to keep things fresh at this point in HP's life, we think is a good idea. One of the things that kept coming up was an achievement system, kind of like gaining trophies when you play console, PC, and/or mobile games. So the HP staff discussed a lot of options, and looked at our suggestions list from messages/emails we've gotten and survey results, and asked players their opinions about different features and finally decided that a simple and effective way to achieve this would be to implement an achievements system into HP! Basically the way will work is that you'll reach a goal (say 1 million player points) and then you will automatically be awarded a badge for it which will show up in a new box under your animals and shows on your home page! So, again, much like winning trophies for your video game achievements. There are lots of automatic badges to start us out, like when you gain a specific number of player points or maybe getting to a certain number of referral points. Not to mention some more fun ones that you'll have to find on your own :P. And also we will be able to award them individually from the admin panel (which we will for things like being a good Samaritan (helping new players, etc.), participating in chat parties, participating in or winning HP-run contests, and so on). It is our hope that this will add a new layer to HP without over-complicating things, give us something to consistently add to the game (so that as we grow we can add in more achievements for you to reach), and help us keep up with the ever-growing-and-evolving game industry. We also want to maybe tie this into the black market idea we had previously discussed (so you could trade achievement points, gained from getting the badges, for things like a gender change in the store).
