Hey guys! Β You may know from previous threads that my family has 2 dogs, a 12 year old pomeranian and a 3 year old pom/chi/? mix. Β Well our old guy is a picky eater and lately he won't eat his dog food and our other dog doesn't want to eat her dry food so we're considering switching to homemade dog food.

I'm curious if any of you feed your dogs homemade dog food and if so what are some recipes that you like? Β I've found several recipes on pinterest but I'd love to hear input from people who do this!

I don't feed homemade food, but just wanted to throw out, the biggest issue that comes with people who make their own (be it a raw diet, etc) is that they are not adding all of the nutrients dogs need so just make sure whatever you end up doing, you are making sure your dogs are getting the proper vitamins and nutrients!

i second tera, nutrients are super super important, and not all get those with homemade food unless you really start working the magic with protien, fiber, plant based protien, etc.

Β

i am no expert, but that is the snipit i know of, maybe try reaching out to some of the major dog owners in the game that i know of like freespin or audacious?

I used to make my last dog homemade dog food but I totally forgot what I learned about it. I remember that I did use strip steak, and peas...I know there was more to it but I just can't remember.

Hey Catt!

Making an assumption here that both dogs are healthy and without any existing medical conditions.

If this is the case, you may want to try the Balance IT website.Β

Here's the link:Β https://secure.balanceit.com/

You can select different food items (meats, veggies, fruits, supplements, etc.) and the site balances a diet for you.Β

They also tell you which of the Balance IT powders to purchase to make sure your pup gets all the vitamins and minerals needed.Β

Once you make your selections, the site will give you a document with the amounts of each ingredient; no guess work needed. :)

Happy home cooking! :)
