I thought it would be fun for everyone to post any random facts they know (or something you Googled or whatever). It can be about anything as long as it's HP-appropriate. One player posts one fact. I'll start:

The Icelandic word for computer is tölva. It was coined in the '60s and is a combination of the words tala (to count) and völva (prophetess).

Water has a high surface tension (higher than most liquids, if not all) because of the magnetic pull between the positive hydrogen atoms in one molecule of water and the negative oxygen atom of another water molecule. This bond of water molecules to each other is called a hydrogen bond, and it's what allows certain creatures to walk on water (because water would rather sick together than break, so it actually bends under the feet of water-striders) :D

Humans are born with 270 bones, but as you mature, bones fuse together to a total of 206.

If you get stung by an underwater creature, the best first-aid treatment is to stick the wounded area in hot water. The hot water actually breaks down the proteins in the fish venom, which then relieves the pain! But definitely be sure to still go to an emergency room and get the wound checked out by a doctor to make sure it isn't a life-threatening toxin (and to prevent infection) :3

Monotremes are mammals that reproduce by laying eggs. There are only two known species of monotremes on the planet: platypuses and echidnas.

Bonus fact: platypuses are venomous :D They have hollow spurs on the backs of their back feet that have a duct connecting to a venom gland. They can't kill humans but it can definitely hurt and make you sick.
