Coming into the warmer months we are getting a few blue tongue lizards floating around. There are MANY of them that get run over because they bask on the road and people don't try to avoid them :'(

There is also a few that find themselves in a pickle when they wander into my backyard and become surrounded by dogs.. Whiskey, Ellie, Maya and Shay are relentless when they find lizards! They don't actually hurt them though. Whiskey barks like an absolute tool in their faces and so do the Schnauzers, but they have yet to grab or bite them and inflict any wounds. Thank god!

So when I hear them barking like idiots in the backyard I grab a bucket and a glove and head out lol.

I take a photo of each one I rescue from the hound horde. I release them down near the creek in the side paddock. Closest to the house but furthest from the yard so they have less chance of coming back and getting ambushed again lol.

First one I rescued on Oct 24th. He was so mellow!

This one was picked up on Wednesday. He was a bit more fiesty.

Then these two together were picked up today. They were thoroughly freaked out but have since calmed down. They'll be released at the creek a bit later today.

I have such good lizard-alert dogs LOL!
