Not to buy, I just found him, outside near the road, grazing on the other side of Ollie's fence :P

There were 5 others wandering around loose this morning so I assume he was part of that herd. I didn't see them until I brought him in, however, and they were a lot more skittish than him so I just let them be and called the council to let them know. Somebody rounded them all up earlier and I don't know where they are now. I didn't offer to help or go talk to them to see if the horses where theirs and/or if this one belongs to them, because it was 3 fairly big men and i'm here in the middle of nowhere all by myself so I had to put my own safety first. They might have even been council workers but I don't know, it's still not a position i'd like to put myself in.

So it's been a few hours and i've called the council again to let them know I have this one horse, in case anyone calls them looking for him. I've also posted in all my FB groups and the Bathurst lost and found pets page.

He's so pretty! He's black. Anyone who knows me knows I have a little obsession with black horses lmao. Blacks and Palominos are my weaknesses.





He looks like he has stringhalt. He lifts one of his hind legs abnormally high when he moves. Other than that he seems to be in OK health. Paddock condition but not too bad. His feet look like they've been taken care of so that's good.

Hopefully someone gets in touch soon! Danny said if he's still here when he gets off work he'll go door knocking with me and see if we can find his people.

Nothing yet, he's still here. He's such a sweet boy. He let me put a halter on him and didn't resist being led into the side paddock. He has lovely manners. Somebody must be missing him!

We didn't go door knocking last night because Danny didn't feel like doing it after he finished work and cricket training, which is fair enough as he had to be up at 5am again this morning for work. We'll probably go tonight as it's Friday and he gets to sleep in tomorrow haha. Door knocking for things like this around here isn't a problem. People don't care as long as you close gates behind you and state your business promptly so they know what you're there for. It's not something I will do by myself however. The people around here are generally pretty lovely but you still have to put your own safety first.

I'm happy to keep him safe here until we find his people!

I still say he clearly wants to stay with you ;)

I could definitely get used to this view.. I must say i'll be a little sad when we do find his people and get him home lol!



Danny finished work early today and went to see a friend and then will be home, we'll go searching for them then.

I'm pretty sure we found where he lives! It's just down the road haha. We drove down there today and saw a few horses on their property that look like the ones that were loose yesterday. We drove up to the house but nobody was home so we'll try again tomorrow. I'll keep him here until we know for certain.

The people from the house we went to yesterday came here today looking for him, and he has been taken home! Danny spoke to them as I was up in the dog sheds working at the time but Danny came up to let me know before he left for cricket so I knew what was going on and why he wasn't in the paddock with Ollie.

The loose herd DOES belong to them and it was the guys brother and his friends that rounded them up the other day. They'd never been around them before so didn't realize the black one was part of the herd so didn't pay attention to him as he was in my yard with my horse.

Apparently he is the "leader" of their little herd and is usually a complete jerk to catch and handle. He runs like the wind when it's time to be caught, fights the halter, bites and rears/bucks. He was a complete sweetheart with me!! He let me slip a halter on twice, didn't resist being led anywhere and LOVED being pet and rubbed. But apparently he is very smart and figures out how to open gates, and that's how they got out in the first place lmao.

So he's back with his people now! I'm a little bummed I didn't get to say goodbye or talk to his people but I am happy he's back home with his herd. He was probably so mellow with me because he was a little depressed and missing his herd.

Sad to see the black beauty go but I know where he lives! Apparently the guy's girlfriend said I am welcome to go visit him if I want. So I might just do that later on, just to say bye!
