Retiring Horses

I noticed that there isn't much difference between retiring horses and deleting them. I would love to be able to keep some sort of record of the horses I've retired in my profile. I think it would be neat if there could be a seperate dropdown tab on your profile for horses you've retired. Each horse would be a link where you could access their information, but you wouldn't be able to edit anything anymore. So, their image, points, name, and everything would be frozen, but you could keep them on your account without having to feed them. I'd even be willing to pay for the option. |

You're right, there isn't much difference! Only the waiting period and the age at which you can do it. I think having a record of them listed somewhere is a good idea :). Maybe we can do that in our next big update! Just so you know, if you go to their specific page, you can still see some basic information about them, and don't have to maintain them! There's just no definitive list of them anywhere at the moment. |

I'm the kind of person that wants to hoard all my retired animals on a retirement account. I like to see all my hard work and I'm not about to reduce it to a drop down list. I don't have to do anything except feed them. When I first buy/breed a horse, I feed it for 5000 days right away, so I won't have to worry about it for years. I'm ok with the above being an option, but I really don't want it to be compulsory for everyone because we wouldn't be able to do retirement breedings, which is no bueno. |

I'm with Tana, however I will say I do retire a lot of those young horses that get stuck without training when I go on hiatus, and I'm not sure I want a reminder of them. lol
BUT I think for anyone who does retire horses a drop-down list would be a neat feature. |

I would love this! However, I would like to be able to edit which horses show on said list. As siib stated, I don't want a reminder of the horses I retire that don't make my point requirements! |

I am not sure where I stand on this - I could see both sides.. IF I did decide to retire my horses instead of delete them, I think I would tend to go the dedicated account route. I personally like my page clean, neat and simple, the less tabs the better, BUT since most accounts have the same breed - I wouldn't be opposed to a separate section for the retired guys. |

But if you retire and then decide you wanna do a retirement breeding , that horse or dog that you wanma breed is no longer available to you , i like the idea . but what kind of option would there be if you decide you want to retirement breed ? |

Since you don't actually retire the horses you want to do retirement breedings on right now., I would think that would still be the same. Just keep feeding the horse after it has aged past retirement age and don't do anything to it. If you just want the link and the record kept in your profile, then you can actually "retire" the horse. Maybe you could put in an extra option that would cost more to reverse the retirement if you wanted to do another breeding. So it would simply cost more than the regular retirement breeding for an overaged horse if you don't think ahead to the breedings you want to do. Or, we could leave it at if you permanently retire a horse, that's it. It's frozen the way you left it. There are probably other things that could be done for some sort of option there. I'm just not sure what would work best for everyone that wouldn't mess up the game's current inflation. |

While there is really no difference in retiring per say, it does make a difference to some players on pedigrees, market values or just sentimental work. I think this would actually turn off players within the game or would, at the very least, make them not really want to renew a Upgrade if that would be bundled; like a couple on here, I also agree with Siib that I do not want a reminder of the horses that have been neglected/retired with poor points, especially since I've been on and off hiatus a couple of times or just have been inactive due to offline matters.
