More information & pictures or whatever but for now I'm just going to drop info about the breed & information from my page about my "Oceanic Kennel Project" which is around to help get more breeders started with the ACDs!

Breed Information

The Australian Cattle Dog (ACD), also known as a Heeler, was originally developed in Australia to herd cattle over especially rough terrain.

They are frequently referred to as Blue or Red Heelers because of their distinctive coat markings & coloring. Both coat colors are mottled and speckled. Blue Heelers have white coat with black hair causing them to appear "blue" while Red Heelers have a white coat with brown hair which appears "red." 

As with dogs from other working breeds, the ACD is an energetic, intelligent, and has a strong independent streak. They respond to structured training, and have a need to be challenged. This is a dog that needs a job, otherwise various bad behaviours will present themselves.

ACDs were originally bred to herd by biting the heels of their herd, and they are known to nip running children or their owners when they want them to move in a particular direction. Due to their high energy and work drive they are not suitable for family/house dogs, and instead are best used as a working dog.

Oceanic Kennel Project 

Because the ACDs don't seem to have many active breeders right now I'm going to start the Oceanic Kennel's "project." What this means is that I will get three pairs of ACDs at a time, train them, and they will be free to anyone who would like to pick up breeding them. My only request is that if you purchase one that you big on a set so that my numbers here don't get out of whack. 

All dogs sold through the OKP will be branded with "OceanicK" rather than my personal brand of "6784." This is simply so that I can have a quick and efficient way to search these dogs and keep track of them. :)

You can already be a breeder to get a pair, my only request is that you don't bid on more than one pair every few months & that you continue their training. You can bid on 2 or more pairs if you are a new breeder just getting started! All dogs through this project are $1 to buy, however donations are a-okay too.
