(refer here if you feel like you're missing some info xD) 

So we had to wait over a week to get Kaleiya's bloodwork back because it was a holiday week... And during that week, her eye swelled up and started poking out of the socket. It was leaking blood and puss and was looking REALLY bad. But on Tuesday, the results for her bloodwork came back negative. The vet said even though that was her result, she could still actually have the infection. So he told me it would be a mistake not to treat her for the fungal infection. So we went ahead and started treatment -- 60 days on a liquid form of Itraconazole. It MUST be taken with food, otherwise her body will not absorb it. So my little potato has been eating lots of fatty humans food in order to make sure she's getting the correct amount of meds. xD

Kaleiya's foster mom heard about the infection, and shared the story with her 3,000 fans on FB. She was able to raise over $1,200 to cover the meds and any other tests that need to be done to make sure she's getting better!! I couldn't believe it when she told me. She is definitely Kaleiya's guardian angel. 

Today is day 5 on the meds, and her eye is significantly less swollen and is no longer leaking. Still cloudy and foggy, and she can’t see anything out of it, but it’s an improvement. She walks with me to her left side, and she keeps her nose against my leg. But if I stop walking, she doesn’t notice because I’m on her left side, and she walks into me. Her limp is gone, her appetite is back, and she has her regular energy again. She has been coughing a little bit, which I’m assuming is the result of the bacteria in her lungs dying. The leisions on her feet are still leaking, and the rest of her paws are raw and swollen. She tends to be walking cautiously on them. We are house sitting, so we are in a new place, but she seems to be doing ok. So far, so good!!! No negative reactions to the meds so far.

Soooo glad to hear she seems to be reacting well to the meds! This makes me do a little happy dance. Thats AMAZING that her foster momma did that for you! Absolutely awesome. 

omigosh, poor pup has been through so much! Glad to hear she is appearing to be on the road to recovery!

Oh I forgot to add, I've been putting colloidal silver on her feet every morning and evening, in addition to adding it to her water. She also has epsom salt soaks that we have to do once a day for her feet. And I've been diffusing some anti-fungal oils in the room all week in the hopes that it helps a little bit if she inhales them. :D

 Oh poor thing! Ive only ever seen Blasto twice in my working lifetime. Definately not something that happens often. 

So sorry youre going through this, but im glad shes doing well on the meds!
