Horse points

I feel like my horses aren't gaining points as fast as they used to. Am I doing something from? I usually train 20 shows every day with the enter all and sometimes I train a couple days head of time. Before I felt like my horses were really rockin' it with the points and now I'm unimpressed. Does anyone have a special way they train to maximize points?

How much are they gaining now? If you don't have many horses, you can always put their points in their name and update it every day to make tracking easier.

If you don't keep a massive herd like I do, and have enough time on your hands, you can try training a little bit every day so that you can enter club shows. Of course, you'll have to fill in the rest with public shows, but if you're doing a little bit every day, then you can actually check each show before you enter to make sure it doesn't have too many entries. There's also private shows if you can afford whole ones or just spots.

If this isn't an option, then you have to remember that if you use enter-all, there's no control as to where your horses end up. Some weeks might be luckier than others. However, being several hours ahead of HP time, my own experience tells me that I gain more points if I don't train on Sundays. This is because the other players have a chance to create shows. More shows = less flooding. You could try and experiment a few of these ideas and see which one consistently brings better points.

As for shows, I remember an account on HL which organized players into different show day groups. People would join and would be assigned a specific day on which to create their shows. This was done in order to make sure each day had at least a decent amount of shows running. I hope more players see this, maybe we can start something similar on here!

I actually just started the process of entering the points in the name to keep track right before I read your reply! I'm just shocked because I deaged all my horses by 2 years on Cyber Monday and they seem to still be on the track of a regular training point schedule. Maybe I should go back to randomly entering them myself. I feel like that gained more points for me. That group does sound like a good idea, maybe post a topic in the discussions about it?

Something I didnt know about when I first started HP was the show entry points. When you enter a show, you get points. Then when the shows run, If your horse places in top 50 (is that right? Lol) it’s awarded points. If it doesn’t place, no more points.

Maybe you knew this already! I had the same question my first few months of playing and this info helped me understand point gains better. :)

I knew something like that but I'm beginning to feel like the enter all system is actually making me lose points. I was getting a lot more points when I randomly entered them myself I think. I guess it's time for experiments!

What if you gained like 1 point after 50th  place?  If theres 80 shows you would atleast gain 80 points every week even if your animal did not win, or is that aleady the case?

I stopped looking for empty show becaus emy horses seemed to be just on track just like the others, even with club shows.  Id enter a club like tana suggested so there are enough unflooded shows . And as for points shown in the name, there is a point tab next to your horse or dog so personally i use that.

Because every one is training on Sunday, I usually enter my animals on wednesday in shows after that.

Honestly what I've found is to train in public shows if you really want to get ahead and have motivation to do so train 20 shows a day by manually clicking on the very last shows on the show search for that day starting on wednesdays. So if there is 11 pages enter however many you can on page 11 then fill in the rest of 20 on page 10 the shows are put into the system by when they are made a show on the last page generally was created the shortest time ago. It will be less flooded. And if you do the same thing on Wednesday Thursday Friday and Sunday you will gain more oints then those using the enter all.

Looks like everyone else gave some great advice!

I just want to add that the more people we have actively playing HP and showing animals, the harder it will be to place in shows. We did increase the number of autoshows by about 25%, but our server can't handle making a ton more autoshows, so the best ways to help combat this are for everyone to make all of their public shows on every account (and if you don't have the five allowed basics, you should have them to make shows!) every single week. Luckily most animals retire with well over 1 million points just from public training, so there is some wiggle room!
