They were especially valued for the color of their fur in Russia, where the nobles wore their pelts. In fact, the domestication of red foxes in Russia is what led to the silver fox, and they are more docile and dog-like in behavior. They wag their tails when happy, bark, and flop their ears!

Like most foxes, silver foxes are monogamous per season, and they parent their litters together! The male sticks around to protect the den and feed the kits and the vixen.
