So today, as I was shoveling 6 inches of snow from my very large driveway, I felt a little nibble on my pocket.

So I turn around, and there she is! A baby doe :D

She was very friendly, and wouldn't let me stop petting her. She also took horse treats from my hand. She would not leave me alone! Every time I walked away from her she would run after me. She even followed me into my garage!! LOL! She took a nice little nap on the dog bed in the heated garage, and ate a bowl of bird seed.

Snoooowwww Whiiiittteeee vibes. Although hopefully her mama came and picked her up.

she was with me for 3 hours, no mama :( and unfortunately my mom wouldn't let me put her up in the garage or the dog pen outside. I did call fish and game to let them know she was out without a mom. 

I have a big old bowl of bird seed out there for her, and a heated water bucket so if she has to be out in the elements, she'll at least have food and water.

 OMG! So freaking adorable. That third picture is awesome. I hope she is okay!

...... okay we get "friendly" bears and cougars but like that's not really the same...

You decide to go where the will-o-wisps lead you. They dance around and return, gently guiding you along their path. They're leading you to the river; you can see it glistening through the trees ahead. Eventually, they leave you at the banks where the water is smooth and the currents gentle. They spin around you a couple times before whizzing off back to where they came from. You gaze at the water, then up and down the river, wondering what they wanted you to see. Something glints to your right, but before you can get closer to discover what it is, the river begins to boil.

The water roils and froths, and from beneath, a dark shape rises. Your heart starts to pound and you wonder if maybe the wisps haven't led you to your death. The shape continues to rise - and grow - and before you can even make a sound, you find yourself staring into the fiery eyes of a pitch black horse - a kelpie. It charges through the river towards you, letting loose a hellish roar, nostrils flaring. It's eyes are blazing and they pin your feet to the ground. But before the beast can reach you, it's hauled back with a snarl of rage, front hooves tearing through the air. 

The moonlight glints off something coiled around the kelpie's neck, and you look to see a heavy metal collar. Chains run down to more shackles above its hooves, and you can see now the thick links that run up out of the water to wrap around a tree further upstream. A simple lock holds it in place, but it is made of pure iron - agonizing to the touch for a kelpie.

You know it's wrong to leave the poor beast chained here, and you have many questions about how it came to be. As you approach the lock, the kelpie watches you with intelligent eyes, flanks heaving with breath. But it remains still, observant. With some effort, you manage to break the lock, and the chains rattle as they fall to the ground. Freed from the tree, the kelpie tosses its magnificent head, and the fire in its eyes seems to cool. The chains around the its neck and legs remain, but those require a finer touch than yours. As you ponder how to safely bring to the beast back to Griffin Lodge, the kelpie tosses its head and approaches. When it comes to a halt, hooves still mired in the river mud, it lowers its long head and presses a damp velvet nose to your brow. With the gentle touch comes a wave of peace, and you know that it considers you a friend.

Knowing it will follow, you start back the way you came. The trail of Pixiu is long gone now, and your new companion needs some aid. It's time to return to Griffin Lodge.

I just found out that I should not have touched her, if momma comes back, she can smell me and might reject her. My day is RUINED. You heckin bet I'm about to build a run in for her and keep deer food out for her now. This little baby will SURVIVE.

She definitely looks old enough that she would follow her momma anyway and your scent will wear off. If she comes back, do what that link said, and rub her down good with some dirt so she'll smell less like you.

Yeah fawns typially get dropped off depending on how old they are. But it's hard not to want to help them/touch them. Things should be okay if the fawn was that old she should be okay.
