I'm not sure if anyone can help me, or maybe can point me into the right direction.  But I recently did a Windows 10 update, thinking lets just update the computer.. even though I normally ignore updates because I'm a bad person.  But this time I did it on my desktop computer, and I can not access anything on my task bar.  The icons show up, but when I click on them nothing pops up.. you can hover over them and it shows that the app is open.   You can click on the start and that part opens up but you can't access anything through that either!  Should I just send it to a computer expert.. or is there a fix I just don't know about????  I've tried restarting the computer and try to get onto the booting page.. but I'm never fast enough.  x.x

Is it a normal laptop or a touch screen, and what type (HP, Dell, etc) I'm not sure if it matters, but I want all the info to give my programmer brother in law to see if he has an answer for you! ☺

It's a gateway desktop, I ended up taking it to Staples, and they spent an hour trying to figure out what had happend to it!  They think when I did an update Malware took advantage of it.. so I left it there, and they are going to go through the computer and get the malware and stuff off of it.  x.x

Must be a malware thing. Nothing happened here.
On another note, CTRL alt Delete shows you taskmanager, and if you open that, you can see if anything suspicious is running too and close it from t here by right clicking it and closing it, if it keeps opening it. Other options are available, but best be done by someone that knows computers :)

I can never catch a break with computers!  I was so excited to get a sweet monitor on sale and now I stare at it until I can get my desktop back HAHA

Gothika, I couldn't even open the task manager it would show up in the task bar and that was it!  But once I had gotten to Staples, Windows knew there was a problem and was fixing itself, but it was literally going snail speed when the techs were trying to figure it out!  But they did say there was malware on it, and I'm hoping it's nothing more serious!
