I am partial to Bays, Dapple Grays, and Jet Black horses myself. :) 

Anyone have any colors they favor? 

I would be fine with any of the colors listed above. :) 

As far as names....have not thought of any yet.

Is there a horse that was near and dear to you that anyone would like to celebrate? 

Or maybe a favorite book/movie/tv show character? 

Or maybe even just do a single word very dramatic/impactful adjective?

Lol  well Kayleen was very dear to me. I got a ton of pictures i can use from her, But then maybe the story will be weird if it's done by someone else. 

But technically I can use a picture of hed to make the picture. For me hoese color doesnt matter, as long as it is not chestnut.

I love the name Kayleen! I think that is a beautiful name! 

I agree though, it might be weird if someone else writes her story. 
So, you could either write up her story instead of lady. OR we could just use her as inspiration? But still write a unique story.

I rather have a new story.
Uhm I bought her from a stable, where she did lessons at 1 point, because the owner bought this high level dressage mare for his daughter, but the daughter didnt want to ride it anymore and went a totally different way.
Then she got used for lessons, but she is not a lesson horse.
She can be quiet hot sometimes.
I kept her and made her a promise that she would stay with me forever as long as I could take proper care of her. She was my first horse, and I instantly felt a connection while buying her. (Just looked at her in her stable, without riding her, they asked me if I wanted to ride her, but I let someone else ride her, so I could see her, this is more important for me, because then I can determine certain things)
Then my relationship ended I took her with me
About 2 years later, my mom ended almost dying in the hospital, and they found the cause; cancer.
Because I also needed to leave my house at that moment (they where rebuilding it in bigger family homes, and it  would be out of reach of my wallet) I needed to move, ended up in a more expensive house (TY coöperations)
My mom secretly payed a bit of money ever 2 months to ensure my horse would get the best hay we could get.... but because my mom was Ill and dying at that point, and because I had the house issue, rested me no choice.
Sold my horse for literally 1k to someone I trusted, because she was on the same stable, would stay there, and I could ALWAYS visit her, ride her, cuddle her, etc..
I took my belongings off the stable, got the money, and left her in care of them. Happily ever after you say.
Those where lies.
My mom wanted to come see her before she would pass, The girl and her mom started to stab me by telling my I didnt take proper care of the horse, telling me i had to pay vet bills after I sold her to them ( About 3 months after) moved stable, sold her, and told the new owners I made everything up.
Even told everyone that my mom wasnt on the edge of dying while I visited my mom almost every day in the hospital and at home.
She got resold another time, the owners contact me saying she was allright after a callout on a horse site.
She got resold again (She is 24 now i think :( )
I dont know where she is, I dont know if she is alive, I dont know If I'll ever know how her last days have been...
I regret every single day I sold her to those people.
I don't want to think about it, because my heart breaks in 10 million pieces. That horse was my soul (even my mom said that) and my mom never got the chance to meet her again before she died on 12 oct 2012. It feels like I betrayed her, and I'm so sorry :(

1. I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I could not even begin to imagine what that was like and how hard that was for her. 
2. You were doing the absolute best you could and that is ALL that matters. You gave that horse and your mother/family your ALL. You had to make hard decisions and at the end of the day, it brought you to where you are now (Hopefully in a stable, healthy state). 
3. Shame on that girl who bought her from you. That is so unbelievably low. Just.. Shame on her. 
4. You didn't betray Kayleen. You did everything you could for her and sold her because you thought that would be the best route for her. You were taking care of her because you knew at that time that you couldn't give her everything she needed, which in turn was giving her everything she needed. You provided her with a stable and a roof and a home. She will always have a special place in your heart and I guarantee that you will always have a special place in her heart as well. 

I had to sell my horses when I was in highschool. It was incredibly hard. So, I know the feeling of having to say goodbye. But, I can't imagine doing that while watching your mom go through cancer. You are so incredibly strong, Gothi. Truly. So, don't feel bad because you were doing the best you could and that is enough.
