She isn't mine, but she'll be staying here for at least a couple months!

This is Sasha, my friend's GSD.

At home she just barks 24/7. She gets walked plenty and has kids to play with, but i'm fairly certain she's just bored. She seems like a dog's dog, and she doesn't really have any doggy playmates. She lives with other dogs, but they are Dachshund's and she's too rough with them so they are separated. Kylie has been getting complaints from the neighbours and also council letters about the constant barking and was in a panic about what to do, so we offered to bring Sasha out here with us for a while. I offered to work on her behaviour while Kylie figured out what she wants to do.

Sasha is perfect out here. She stays in the backyard with Whiskey and the Spaniel puppies and she is fantastic. She barks a little when she sees our cars pull up, and at dinner time (both of which i'm training her out of because it's annoying af), but other than that she is as quiet as Whiskey. I mean they all bark a little when they are playing and having a ton of fun but they quiet down when we tell them to.

So i'm going to suggest to Kylie to get Sasha a bigger playmate if she doesn't trust her with the Dachshunds.

But anyway she's here for at least a couple of months! Fun times xD

Oh she's beautiful.

How exactly does one train out compulsive barking... We've got one and when he gets going the others get going and pretty soon we're all texting because we can't hear each other...

Sasha's barking habits are fairly easy to train out. When she barks at dinner time I just ignore her completely while standing at the gate with the food bucket. She's catching on fairly quickly that she doesn't get fed until she's sitting and being quiet. Also teaching the Spaniel puppies this because it's just good manners to sit quietly. I can't stand dogs that go bezerk at meal times, barking and jumping up on the gate. It's so frustrating. Dogs don't get fed around here when they're behaving like idiots :P

Yeah Jaimie has anxiety and barks. Cersei gets agitated at his barking and barks louder. She also barks when she plays. Then Ramsay, if you can call it a bark yet, just starts up when the other two do or if he wants to play with them and they're all super loud and just. Oof.

The barking to be fed habit is something Teddy just started, and he also has started springing up and down (over my head might I add) to make it worse. I am working with teaching him it isn't okay - any advice?

Prior to starting this behavior (he only does it when eating outside) he was fed indoors only and he would run and sit and wait paitently and quietly in his crate. I just started feeding them outside a week or so ago and I am thinking about just moving it back inside. I just thought in the summer when we are outside a lot it would be beneficial to get them used to eating and staying outside for a little bit to potty before going back in while the kids and me swing or swim.
