So as most of you guys probably know, I hit a kangaroo back in October lol. 



We had been planning to replace the whole front end for like a year anyway, and bought the parts ourselves and had them painted and were just getting ready to do the changeover and BAM, kangaroo haha. I'm super, super lucky that I hit it and did the damage BEFORE we did all the work!
The kangaroo crumpled the bonnet, smashed the headlight, cracked the grille and I don't even know where the Holden badge ended up, broke the air conditioner core (so I had no a/c from October til last week, in the middle of summer Dx), bent the radiator and broke the radiator support. So those were all replaced. I upgraded the bumper bar to an SS bar with foglight holes so I could install foglights (didn't have them before), and bought new LED headlights.

She is finally done! Took her to the car wash for a much needed bath lol and then took some photos :D

Danny did all of the work himself so we only had to pay for parts and paint. All up it probably cost around $2.5k to fix.

Yay! I hit a deer in October and it literally took almost as long for the mechanic to get my car finished - just finally got it back a couple weeks ago. It is a great feeling to finally be back in one's own vehicle again. 

Omg I know right, Pants! I was still able to drive mine with the crumpled front but when we finally stripped it down to do the repairs I had to drive Danny's car whenever I needed to go out. It's very much like mine (same model and year) but his is a V8 ute and is SO much different in its own ways.. Plus it's "his" car and I just missed mine so much lol. The day it was finished and ready to drive I couldn't keep myself out of it. I LOVE driving and I really love my car so I took every opportunity to drive it lmao. We live 30 minutes out of town though so I had to be mindful of fuel consumption as unfortunately fuel is not free LOL.

One of Danny's friends owns a new but BOOMING car detailing business and i've seen some of his work, he is AMAZING. So next payday I am booking Baby in whenever I can get a spot. It's gonna cost me a bomb because Baby's interior is an embarrassing mess, but he's also going to have a go at buffing out the dirty big scratch that goes along almost the entire left side of the car, which I am assuming came from someone keying my car.

Just out of curiosity, is it pretty common to get hit by a kangroo on the roads?  Kind of like deer in the US?

Pretty common amber, especially out here where I am, there's kangaroos EVERYWHERE. I just don't drive at night anymore because the risk is too high and it took too dang long to fix the damage from the last one, I really don't want to hit another one lol. The risk is always there but less during the day.
