I am seeing both for sale and am considering starting another horse breed. Which one should I pick and why?

Arabians - for no reason other than I'd like to see an Arabian Nights themed line and I don't do horses

It's usually personal preference  Seas are more popular and you are more likely to find good lines for sale but probably at a premium.

Arabians probably aren't as easy to buy with lines. But I'm not to certain.

There are A TON of SEAs on sale right now. If you're looking for something started. I have Gothika's lines, and I know skyfire has a crop of foals for sale right now.

In rl, the different kinds of Arabian breed names are due to where the line originates. So SEA is a horse whose entire family tree traces back to a specific stud in Egypt or something. If not all of them do, it's called an Egyptian Arabian. So a Russian Arabian, for example, descends from a line of Arabians bred in Russia over many generations. If a horse is simply an Arabian, then I guess it's a mix of some of these lines.

On HP, which one you choose to breed is up to you, but I agree that SEAs are the most popular and have long lines. Second most popular is probably just the Arabian. However, crossing an SEA with an Arabian will result in an Arabian on here. It's one of those rare instances where crossbreeding is "ok" but no one does it, as far as I know.

I say you should breed SEAs :)

Please let me know if you're interested as I'm the breed ambassador and could help you get started on them :)

Should be having some backup foals in the next couple of weeks for sale!

Okay thanks! I'm going to go with SEAs, I've only ever bred Arabians before, because that's what I owned in RL, though I noticed/it felt like even back on HL SEAs were more popular.

I'm going to start shopping around for SEAs this afternoon, I'd like to only buy from players, not the store, if I can as a way to support the players already breeding. I want to do this with Paints also in a few weeks.

Yeah, I've carried over SEAs from HL.

I only bred them there because they were so popular, but they've always been the one breed that I stick with :)

Like I said, I'll have some backups for sale in a few weeks too!

I have some lines dropping today!

I post all about my sales here: https://horsephenomena.com/viewpost.php?id=88045

And you can follow the post so you will know when it updates. I think I have some 2nd gen dropping today that will be quite cheap if you were interested in them!
