First off,not sure where to put this so I put it here...

Okay,so my b-day is coming up and I'm thinking about asking for a Wacom tablet.I love graphics, although honestly,I find it tedious to do with my laptop and that's why I don't do too much of it.I also love drawing and want to be able to make digital art of my favorite things (like Sonic the Hedgehog and MLP!:P).I think a Wacom tablet would be a nice addition, but I'm not sure which one.

What ones would you awesome arrrtists (roll the "r") suggest for someone who likes making manipulations and wants to get into the line art area of things?I'm eying up the Wacom Create, but I noticed the Wacom Splash was much cheaper...I don't know, that's why I'm coming to you!

Thank yous in advance :).

I use a wacom intuos5 medium. They're so nice but I wouldn't recommend it for a first tablet since you're not even sure if you like it yet. :P I guess my reply is pointless lol

The first tablet I started using was the cheapest Wacom Bamboo tablet.. I think it was the $99 one. It worked great and I still have it.. But I've upgraded recently to the Wacom Bamboo Create tablet and LOVE it.

If the price range on a wacom is scary, check out monoprice tablets. Word is from the art community on Tumblr they're comparable quality to Wacom and ooooh... about 1/5 the price. You can get a 12 x 9" tablet for $89, or an 8 x 6" for $40. If you like the hotkeys of a Wacom Intuos, they have a 10 x 6.5" model for only $50. Smaller models (often all someone needs if they're only going to be using it to paint hair) come as cheap as $23. The largest Bamboo (the most common model used around here) is a little less than 8 x 6" and $200The only downside to monoprice tablets is the pen needs a battery, but you can't shake a stick at the price. I've heard the monoprice ones actually have a higher recognition for pressure sensitivity.I have the oooooold bamboo pen and mouse (going on 5 years old), and my boyfriend has the old bamboo pen and touch. We're upgrading to monoprice probably around Christmas.

Thank you chao for that website! I've also been wanting a tablet but don't really have the extra cash for a wacom tablet. They are pretty cheap there so maybe I'll be able to get one sooner rather than later :)
