Cap for Publics + More Publics?

Lately we have all had an issue with the public shows being flooded. I was thinking about this this morning, after my attempt to have an un-flooded show failed (I put the price at 2000 and it still flooded). Is there anyway players could put a 'cap' on how many dogs could enter? like maybe have it where the number has to be between 20-40 (or higher)? I know that would bring up the issue of too many animals, not enough shows, but... maybe players could get more than one public show? I, for one, would be willing to pay a little more HPD for extra public shows due to the crazy amount of flooding that's been going on lately.  |

Thats what private shows are for.. public show means every single person on HP can enter that one particular show if they like. If we put a cap on it, that would defeat the purpose of a public show in my opinion. Everyone gets 400 points per show with breed specialty, and the first 50 places get extra points.Also, most people I know train randomly, so they don't really even know what shows they're entering. I personally don't find there's an issue with flooded shows.. my horses and dogs are hitting 1 mill well before retirement if I train them every week. HPs show system is set up so that animals retire with the standard 1 mil points. Anything more than that is a bonus. I don't think we need to re-evaluate the show system/point standard until people start consistently retiring well under the 1 mil standard. |

I agree with Uni. I can train one day a week, putting everyone in 20 shows a day for 4 days, and they still get over 1 million points by retirement. As long as that keeps happening, there is absolutely no reason to add in more shows.And capping shows is bad - first x number of people to get on and train win! Whoo-hoo! Nu-uh, that will only cause problems. |

I didn't think about the x-number of people. It would probably cause a huge server overload. XD So let's just scratch that idea... all together. I also didn't know it was the top 50 that got extra points... I thought it was the top 16, so this whole idea can just go straight to the waste bucket lol |

Yup, it starts at 2000 and goes down 50 places, everyone else gets the entrance points only :)People generally stick to around 10 entries in private shows because with breed specialty, you get 1.5x the points if you place in the top 10. So for first place you get 3000 points rather than 2000! |
