I was thinking about managing multiple upgrades, and it would be super cool to have an option for your upgrade to automatically re-upgrade when it expires. It could be a setting, so if people didn't want it they wouldn't need it. And if you bought an upgrade in auctions, it wouldn't pull becuase technically the upgrade didn't expire. And maybe have it not work on inactive accounts (i.e. no log ins for a month or something like that)

Now, I know nothing of programming so I have no idea if this is possible, but I thought it was a good idea.

Oh so an automatic renewal like with magazine subscriptions! This would be good for those who pay rl money for their upgrades, but I think most people go through the auctions and don't necessarily buy from the same person all the time. For them, they always have to bid every 6 months... I think a better idea would just be for the game to notify a player of an expiring uppie earlier. 14 days out instead of 7. 

Another thing: use an excel sheet to help manage your accounts. I used Siib's templates and added a column for expiry dates, so now I see it every week. This is on the sheet with logins. Then there's a sheet for what breeds I have, on which account, and whether they're trained or not. You can always change it a different way to suit your needs.

It would totally be possible to do auto-renewal for people who do their own upgrades (giving them an option to check it and not having it automatically checked, obviously), but doing it for only those who have logged in recently might be too taxing on the game to check and keep track of.

I would love a 14 rather than 7 day notification of an upgrade expiring as I don't really run through mine often enough and sometimes only catch it as it's expiring. 

Also I don't add mine to my spreadsheet because I upgrade myself and don't need the time to find someone else to upgrade for me but I think multiple people have added that column and Reno posted a formula for the sheet to do an automatic count down on your upgrade time for you (thanks Roo).

I'm sure that a few people would use an automatic renewal but I think it could cause more trouble than good? Particularly if it didn't get turned off when someone leaves the same for some reason, OR if someone had to leave right at the end of an upgrade, forgot to turn it off, and it renewed anyways at a very inconvient time for them. There are definitely a lot of variables in this idea & while it would make life easier for those of us with 10 accounts I think it's more of a risky idea. 

If the auto upgrade was a thing could you still have a reminder before it upgrades? I would like this option but if my car breaks down or something and I could use the $15 elsewhere, I would hate for it to be gone and have forgotten about checking the box.

Yes, if we were to do this, I think an email reminder would be good!

I can change the upgrade reminder to 14 days pretty easily, I think. I'll look.

I think this is now changed to start warning you 14 days out! But someone with an upgrade that's about to expire will need to check and let me know for sure.
