I'll probably end up doing a few accountsone way and a few the other but my OCD is kiling me and it would be cool to have a few opinions...

1) Separate lines - eight horses per group with their own name theme, only breed within that line

2) 40 animals in 5 different groups but the higher lined animals always bred together and stores added in towards the bottom dividers to make the pedigrees fuller down the line

I really want to start doing option 2 on most of my accounts but then I feel like I'd have to come up with one theme for 40 animals...and I like the idea of having multiple themes. I guess I could do different themes and still breed them up by highest gen and then a foal could have multiple different themes in it's pedigree but that is killing my ocd.

Thoughts? 

I also love using different themes because I always come up with new ideas. So I would go with separate dividers, like I have on my main. Plus I find it's easier to manage lines, especially if you bring in outside ones. 

As for wanting to make a full pedigree... I used to have more dividers on top, but I threw those horses into my Suomeksi line and I'm combining everything. I'll supplement with stores when I don't get the right amount of fillies and colts. When the line shrinks more (and the Amon Amarth and Turmion Kätilöt lines have been mixed in), I'll probably expand with stores. Depends on how much time I have xD

I'm so torn lol! I love being able to come up with lots of themes and organize them by dividers but idk I'm so fickle. Maybe I'll just do the combining lines thing on my AQH because I wanted to do county song titles and it wouldn't look so bad if the lines were changed around.

I can never stick with themes so what I've ended up with is a tonnnn of various lines at different ages. I'm still doing retirement breedings to catch up from my hiatus last year BUT once that's done I'll eventually slowly merge animals into other sets of lines by breeding them all down, etc. It's a bit of organized chaos so if you figure out a good system lemme know. 

Update! So far I have SEAs, Paints, AQH's, Quarter Ponies, Russian Arabians and Direwolves. My SEA's are going to be all separate themes and lines, eight each, pairing what I can and buying stores as mates when needed. Still need to figure out the themes for them... but My Paints have five sections of 8 horses, and are basically one big theme of Grey's Anatomy episode titles and song titles from the episodes. But I'll pair as many lined animals as I can together for the future generations, move those to the top, and add in stores in the bottom sections. (Finally went through yesterday and got all those named LOL) AQH's are going to be like the Paints, but with the top two sections being named after horses from another game I used to play, and th and then trying to combine the parents names for foals, and the bottom three section country songs in order of what my pandora station plays the day I can take the time to sit down and type out the names LOL. Quarter Ponies are going to be my full Harry Potter breed to full my obsession now and forever... I'm thinking chapters, names, beasts, spells, potions... could use more ideas on that lol but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Russians will be just one section of 16 instead of two sections of eight and named after songs from 13 reasons why for now unless I can think of something else... I was going to go with russian names but I always do that (while I love it, I want to do something new, maybe I'll add in a Russian theme later...) - Direwolves are going to be named after faeries.. maybe one GOT line for the sake of my love of that show but I know a lot of players do that theme and I hate copying. But a lot of my other names may have already been used anyway. So I decided to group most of them together for lines this time. We'll see how it goessss.

Like you said in your OP, you'd have to come up with a theme that has enough names to sustain you awhile. 

You could also do each generation a different theme. Like, say, gen 1 is harry potter, gen 2 narnia (either do it with a large umbrella theme like "books" or do completely different themes every gen like gen 1 harry potter gen 2 countries of the world).

I'm sort of doing things like what blitz suggested. My Mongolian horses are all named after Star Wars characters, my Halflingers after Legend of Zelda, my coonhounds Lord of the Rings, and my Catahoulas after things in Louisiana. I'm starting to lay out Gen2 and already running short on names, so my suggestion is to do a big umbrella. It's probably what I'll have to shift to doing or start incorportaing suffixes (i.e. Skywalker II, Skywalker V, etc.)

I keep no more than 5-10 pairs per line, the smaller the group means im going to downsize and merge them. And larger ones are my babies(usually higher gens) that i keep going xD

But i love seeing everyones idea on this. I love seeing how people organize their animals because my OCD is forever ruining my vibe lmao

Me too Peike!!! My OCD kills me lol. I want to someday do a project - long ways down the line. I haven't decided which of my breeds yet and I really want that foal (whenever it happens, whatever breed) to have a completely full pedigree so I think I've been buying large amounts of each breed because I can't make up my mind. I am so fickle. >:[

How do you guys mix in your store animals? I always end up adding stores each generation and I dont like that. I would love to have a full generation. 

I do my naming alphabetically. So Ivan and Isadora retired, so now I have Judd and Jolie. Their pup will have a 'K' name. That way it also keeps track of different generations but you know which dogs are around the same age or have been bred together. 

I'm ocd so I like full lines lol... it's a problem. Mix that with my hoarding and there you have it lol. I just start at least 8 pairs so I can keep pairing the lined offspring with the other lined offspring and add in store pairs and continue on like that each gen
