Hey HP!
This is just a crediting reminder. We require full URL-format credits on all animal images and layouts. You can find the rules anytime by clicking here or by following the "Rules" link in the footer. But for your convenience, I've copied them to this post and added some notes and clarifications.
In addition you may find our Stock and Crediting Guide and our Credits FAQ helpful.
If you have any questions about stock and crediting, please ask us! We are happy to help you figure out the proper credits or check to make sure an image is credit correctly before you post it.
Also this post is just about credits, but it's always a good idea to check over the full rules every once and awhile to refresh your memory!
Our Rules:
All images used on animals and in layouts on HP must be stock. (This means that they MUST be images which are being offered for you to use specifically for photo manipulations or art.)
You must follow the stock provider's rules for using their images, as well as ours. For example, if the stock provider says not to be used on SIM games, that means you can't use it on HP. (Our mods would be happy to help you interpret Creative Commons licenses, so please just ask if you aren't sure!)
Every resource used in making a photo manipulation must be credited with the full URL of the artist.
Every photo, drawing, all lyrics, poems, quotes, or text taken from somewhere must have full and accurate credits ON the picture itself. This does not include fonts and brushes where the creator does not require credit, and does not include crediting the program that was used to make the art.)
Examples of full URL format are deviantart.com/username (or user.deviantart.com if image was posted on HP before 5/31/2018), or flickr.com/photos/username, or colourlovers.com/lover/username. Remember if more than one person contributed to a stock image, like they often do on ColourLovers, both artists must be credited.
Credits must be ON the image in layouts, not linked underneath (with the exception of ColourLovers patterns)
You must credit yourself if you took the pictures, you can either link to your own portfolio, or say "Photo by [your name/HP name/ID number". (This is required because the mods have to be able to check on credits and if you don't credit yourself we will have no way of knowing it's your photo and not a picture you took from somewhere else.)
All credits must be clear and legible without turning our screen brightness all the way up and zooming in 400%. Some images degrade over time, so in these cases you will be asked to fix it.
All hand drawn pieces of art must credit any references you used and say "Drawn by [Your Name]" on them.
Graphics and Layouts posted in the graphic auctions must have full credits on the image preview, in the HP auction description, OR link to a full image with credits on the image.
You may manipulate the HTML and CSS on your homepage, so long as all parts of the navigation are viable and functioning, and none of your animals, events, or player information is covered up.
Layouts with gore which shows any human or animal suffering are not permitted on HP.
