Red Dead Redemption II.

I am still obsessed with RDR1 but mostly just online multiplayer because it's wicked fun to join a posse and do stuff. Not to mention there's this one guy on my PSN list that is SUPER fun to play online with. He always has his mic on and he's super sweet so I like to crank up the PS3 if I see him online playing RDR.

But I am OBSESSED with RDR2 omg. I'm sure all you who have me on fb are sick of my RDR status updates by now lol.
I am almost 2 weeks late to the party because I didn't have a PS4 yet but I FINALLY GOT ONE WITH THE GAME WITH IT AND IT'S SO MUCH FUN. There is SO much to do. The interactions are amazing.

The horses are amazing! I am yet to break the white Arabian but I have a buckskin American Standardbred (Adelia) and she's awesome. I'm really attached to this horse lol. I also have a palomino Standardbred (Athena) that I got before the buckskin, but she is basically a pack horse now that I take with me when I go hunting. She is a bit faster than Adelia who hasn't reached her full potential yet, so sometimes I take her out bareback to rope a deer.

I am still getting used to the fact that they don't automatically dodge trees and buildings and any other stationary objects like they do in RDR1 lol. Also other people don't move out of the way like they do in RDR1 and i've had many head-on collisions because I forget.

I am in Chapter 3 right now and just finished the bank mission.

TELL ME YOUR RDR2 EXPERIENCES SO FAR!!

Well I got my PS4 back the other day and I tried RDR2 Online Beta.

First of all you need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play it, which sucks a lot because i'm too poor for that right now lol. They give you a free 2 day trial when you open up Online Multiplayer in the RDR2 menu, you don't have to sign up or input payment details or anything for the trial so that was good. I didn't really want to stuff around creating an account for a 2 day trial lmao. I'll buy a subscription once money's a little better for me.

As for the gameplay itself.. I wasn't thrilled. It's a little confusing, and it takes quite a while to reach the point of playing the map with other people. You create your character and give it a name (your player marker shows your PSN ID but you can give your character a proper name), and you can customize it quite significantly, from facial features and skin tones to hair styles and makeup. That was kind of fun but I do enjoy that kind of thing. I spend way too much time in Sims 3 just creating my sims lol.
Then you start the story and go through the cutscenes (which I don't think you can skip) and do the first couple of little missions that it forces you to do by yourself before you can start interacting with other people.

Everyone's dots are the same colour on the map which I find a little annoying. In RDR1 Online everyone has a different colour dot (unless you're in a posse, then you're all the same colour as your posse leader) and it makes it a lot easier for me to identify different people without going in and out of the map and trying to move the cursor over their dot to display their name.

Money is EVERYTHING in RDR2 Online. You really can't do much without it. You can break wild horses, but you cannot take it to a stable and make it your main horse. I learned this the hard way when I broke a dapple grey TB and then couldn't do anything with it lol. As with RDR1 Online you get better horses as you level up but unlike RDR1 Online you have to buy them, they aren't automatically assigned to you when you reach new levels.

There are main story missions to do, in which you are matched with 1-5 other people, you don't get to choose who you play those ones with. You can do stranger missions as well to earn a little extra cash, but other players can AND will steal your objective to get the money for themselves. Your best bet to get it done in those missions is to find a posse, join it and try to get them to do it with you. That way they can help you defend your objective from rival players. For example, one stranger mission is you have to pick up two bags (one at a time) and deliver them to separate addresses. Rival players can follow you until you get close to the drop-off address, shoot you, steal the bag and deliver it themselves.

My first posse experience was a bad one. Through playing RDR1 Online I had gained a false sense of security regarding posses lol. In RDR1 usually you posse up and go do gang hideouts together, everybody gets points, the hideouts get done quicker, and it's usually a ton of fun if you have a good posse. I was stoked when I got my first posse invite in RDR2, however they decided it would be fun (there was 2 of them) to rope me and pull me off my horse, hogtie me and pu t me on the fire. I broke free and ran, somehow able to snag headshots on both of them in the process, but they relentlessly chased me until I left the session.

You also have to manually leave posses in RDR2 Online, unlike RDR1 where once you leave the session you automatically leave the posse. I left the session and went to a new Free Roam lobby to get away from them however I was still part of their posse until I manually chose to leave it. They didn't follow me there (thank god) but I was still in their dumb group until I left it.

My PS trial ended a couple days ago and i'm really in no hurry to buy one to go play RDR2 Online lol. I'm happy sticking with RDR1 Online and doing stuff with my fave dude.

I've never played any online versions of games like this, because the few times I've watched someone else play, they just get mercilessly slaughtered every single time and can't do anything. Way too annoying for me, and what a waste of time!

In other news, Tatu finished the game yesterday. Well, the storyline; he got up to 73% completion I think. I dunno where I'm at (I should switch to manual saving), but I just got to Saint Denis.

I really despise Micah and Dutch. I wish this game was made as a ''choose your storyline,'' so I could get away from those two and start my own gang lol.

I've been playing the online beta and it has been so frustrating with people just running up to you and killing you.

Like, I'm just minding my own business, trying to go hunting or trying to break a horse and all of a sudden, you're shot.

If someone kills you over and over again, it does let you prevent that person from killing you again for a 10 minute period, but I still hate it lol

I am pretty kickass at online multiplayer RDR1 now because Gabriel has been helping me get golden versions of my weapons, and the only way to do it is to get 100 headshots on other players with each weapon, and he's been making me work for it lately by moving around more so I have to actually try lol. Plus we do co-ops a lot and you get better scores if you get headshots so I do that too. I can snag a headshot off pretty much anyone now.

I've been able to defend myself pretty well in RDR2 online becaise of it, too. Let me tell you, people don't like it when they shoot you 5 times and you don't die and then you shoot back and kill them with the first or second shot LOL.

Yesterday I was in RDR1 online and a level 50 invited me to join his posse of 3 and another level 50 joined and kept killing them and they got so angry that I was able to shoot him in the head every time and they couldn't kill him once, so they kicked me from the posse and kept trying to kill me until I got bored and left lol. Although it probably didn't help when the guy was like "ashbee why can you kill him and we can't? you're probably a modder and can't do it without cheating" and I turned my mic on and was like "I don't know how to mod, I guess I just don't suck at this?" and he got SO angry lmao.

I hate people that just shoot on sight. I don't understand what they get out of it. I'm happy to play the game properly with anyone who wants to join me. I only shoot if they shoot first.

Omg the stagecoach coming up from Blackwater... that was tough! Like every other one, the people just shoot at you, sometimes it hits your horse, but nothing major. THESE GUYS THOUGH. They had it in for my poor horse D: So because I'd have to stop to revive her, I'd lose the coach and have to start all over, but after like 5 tries, I got it. I gave those guys what they deserved lol.

Also a funny glitch I experienced... I went out hunting and then decided to go to a stable. I had a carcass strapped to my horse, so when I walked into the stables, it said it would be waiting outside while I'm in the stables. No problem. But when I came back out, the carcass was, yes, next to the area where the stable people work and make things, but it was also hanging sideways off my horse XD Basically, picture the way the carcass lies on the ground, but now it's levitating and it's attached to your horse.

LOL I can imagine that tana xD

If you PS4 users are ever on multiplayer when I am we should do some stuff together. I'm using my shaenne account for this now because each PSN account gets a 2 day trial (I have 3 accounts lol) so feel free to add me. I'll probably buy a 1 month subscription to PS Plus on Saturday because I have no impulse control.

Two of my favourite things in RDR2 are the train robbery cutscene where he stands on top of oil tanker waiting for the train, and the music played during American Venom.

I've taken quite a break from RDR2 lately because i've been RDR1ing so much with gabriel but I think i'll spend some time today in RDR2 doing stranger missions and hunts so I can get a little closer to 100%.

I've taken a little break, too, mostly because I don't want the game to end xD I've gotten to a point in St-Denis where there's just something to do with Dutch and I'm like nah, I'm gonna go shoot some gators and rob people. Tatu finished RDR2 and RDR1, but we got the Game of the Year edition, so it comes with the zombie DLC. He's been pretty into that!

Undead Nightmare is pretty fun, trying to get the spinning plates trophy was harder than I thought it would be (having every town on the map marked as safe at the same time), literally as soon as the trophy dinged for me I lost complete control of Armadillo LOL
I did an Undead Overrun session with a few friends the other day in RDR1 Online and holy crap. What a waste of time. We got to like wave 20 and we all died because we all ran out of ammo and coffins don't spawn anymore after wave 19 or 20, but it took like half an hour, it was BRUTAL and we were all super proud of ourselves for lasting so long and we got a lousy 1000 points each. It wasn't even enough for me to level up and I was gutted lol. In the time it took to do that I could have done 3 or 4 co-ops and leveled up twice. Buuuuut some people aren't as points-focused as me LOL.

I HATE Saint Denis. With a burning firey passion LOL. There's a mission in Epilogue where you have to go there for something and as soon as I heard the words I was just like ugh please nooo.
