Club and Association Overhaul

One of the next big things I want to do with HP is totally re-vamp the club and association system so that it offers more to the game and is more popular.

I also want clubs versus associations to have distinct features from each other and serve different purposes on the game.

So I thought I would post and see who has some suggestions on things they might like to see/think will work :).

Just to it's on the table, is there anything awarded when your registered with a club/association? Like points to the animal or money to our accounts?Maybe we can limit the number of associations you can be a member of and have them displayed on a page (linked from your home page). That way it's something you think about and have some pride it. A revamp on association shows to allow age specific groups would be neat. Set up similar to the rankings age groups association could host multiple shows for each species each week. One for each age group/species. This would incorporate showing foals/pups but it would be something fun and unique to just the associations (or clubs if you wanted to take it that way).That's all I have for now, I'll have to brainstorm more.

Maybe the clubs could sell horse/dog tickets(maybe instead of 50 tickets it could be 30) and the money collected could help fund the contests run that term or whatever?! And maybe for associations we could get the association name as a main link on the owners home page..like i run the endurance assoc so instead of going to the club link i could just click the endurance assoc....since, to my knowledge we are only allowed one assoc per account?

love your idea azalie but maybe one ticket to one HP player's animal instead of the whole set. Making it fair ;) or even use the tickets as prizes.I would like to see an option to "pass on" presidential rights in associations to other players if the president so chooses. Some players go on break and the whole association is dead. Why not be able to pass it on to a player that will continue it. Keeping it alive instead of deleting it for inactivity?

This was posted in the suggestions thread, but Tronic brought it to my attention that it is best here, so without further a due (I've just always wanted to say that lol) This is an idea, I am absolutely in love with, and I'm sure you guys will be too once you hear it!I think there should be an "Association of the month" AwardThis is when an association is recognized by HP about their efforts of trying to give back to players of the game, who encourages players to be more active, have fun contests and etc.The winning Association gets to proudly wear an official "badge" or "trophy" so to speak proudly on their page.. but ALSO, now here's the fun part, the association wins a REALLY cool prize from Sam to give away to one of their members... like "instant 10k added to any animal" or you know... other cool things Sam can give out... This idea needs work on how it would be chosen/given out, but it's an awesome way to have some bragging rights about the job well done on your assoc. AND give out an awesome prize from sam that you can't normally give out from your association!I think this idea would make associations much more active, (not saying they aren't already, but perhaps may inspire them to do even more to encourage players)What do you guys think??

maybe it can be a bit of statistics.. like.. what page was most active and had the most hits, got the most new members and etc. Even if you left out the "cool prize from sam" part, how hard can it be to hand out an "association of the month, and the date" badge to display on the page. I mean.. most associations give out so much of their own money and time, just for a little fun in the game.. why not have something little at least to recognize it. Maybe the "cool prize from sam" part can be a fair random generated thing to any member of the association. (besides the actual owner, obviously)

I like the Association of the Month idea - Blitz already keeps track of activity and if I ran through and looked at some other criteria once a week or something (maybe they could even apply?) it would be pretty easy to keep on top of I think.We could have a whole forum for it. And maybe even player votes!

As long as we put something in place where people couldn't buy votes for it. That kinda defeats the whole purpose.

Suggestion - compact all of the acceptance messages for a single account into one message, like training tickets, so that it eliminates the need to clean out 400+ messages like I did earlier today. XD

Also, interesting thing - on clubs, after you send money via a club, the title of the club temporarily changes to the name of the person you just sent money to.
Suggestions for the associations/clubs overall:
- Allow selective membership into associations - as in not anyone can join.
- Set different entry/membership fees for different people (not sure what this would be used for but it'd be an interesting idea.)
- I like trig's, azalie's, M.arixel's, amd Bellicus's ideas (with Adranth's and Sam's ideas for that). :)

- I like the selective membership idea. I feel like association owners would have a little more control over their association if they could select their members based on their membership requirements, much like horse and dog registration.As long as the membership requirements weren't outrageous and the association owner didn't play by favouritism (I think it would be pretty easy to monitor that, too), I think it would be a cool addition.- I also really like the association of the month suggestion. I think if there were some nifty prizes up for grabs it would give association owners a lot more incentive to make their association the best it can be. I know many already do, but making it a little more fun and even a teeny bit competitive couldn't hurt.I think the idea of giving a cool prize to one of the association members instead of the owner is great as well, because I think (well, I hope) that would encourage more players to participate in associations and boost activity within them....Apparently, "I think" a lot. Harhar.

I think that maybe there should be a limit put in place on how many animals you can put in a show or how many animals in total can enter to maybe avoid flooding for the club shows. This is a crummy idea, but whatever just throwing it out there that maybe something could be put in place to prevent club show flooding?? = Like 1 player can have 2 horses per club show or something with a max of "x animals per show"?

I think proceeds from club/association shows and the join fee (for associations) should be deposited into that club/association rather than just disappearing, since right now nobody "donates" and whomever is running the club/association is the only one contributing money. And I also agree with BlackFire's event history suggestion too. =)

They don't disappear, they go to the club/association owner. But yes, that's something that will be fixed in the overhaul. :)

maybe the association owner has the right to kick out members if they become inactive? but the members can rejoin if they repay the fee. that way it will encourage players to stay active in each association they join. AND maybe the joining fee could be more expensive, like a 5mil cap, so that it will be more of a big deal if they get booted out?and/or boot out animals that do not meet weekly training requirements for that association? (since it is privately owned and operated, unlike the clubs which are more public) and they of course have the option to re-apply once their requirements are up to par.

as far as membership requirements, when my association was active, i made all members fill out a form before i accepted any of their animals.(all inked up form: name, id, accounts, #of tattoos/piercings, fav band, cool fact you want to share with other players)that way everyone could get to know others a little easier :)
