If you're looking for a specific gene or color, if you have a mare that needs a stud, if you have foals to sell or are looking to buy foals from other Prism breeders, send a message to get an ad posted here!

None for now!

I'm so glad there's so much interest! I'm very very passionate about this program - it's an optional add-on to gameplay here on HP :D For those who want something to breed for in addition to points, now there's color!

Updates - as of June 24, 2020

We've got a How To Use Prism guide up! Also, the Phenotype section of the Prism Generator is finally up and working correctly! You should now get the correct color for your horse right away after hitting "Generate!"

The Color Guide is getting filled in. The Quick Sheet can help you decode what gene combos create what color. The first part of the individual gene descriptions has been completed; the Base Colors section describes the four genes that make up the base colors and how they interact.

Next up for the program will be Gene Influences - for those who are looking for a specific gene or a more hand-picked genetic profile, you'll be able to select desired genes and generate a genetic profile that includes them. With this addition to the program will come new Prism Challenges (check out the current challenges under the Prism Challenges section on the Prism Guide page).

As always, if you have any questions or are interested in dipping your toes into equine color genetics, don't hesitate to send a message! I'd absolutely love to get players involved in color genetics and see how it can add to the community and gameplay :D

Updates - as of August 4, 2020

The Prism Generator now has Gene Influencing! This advanced option for the Prism Generator allows you to select what genes you'd like your horse to have. Selecting a gene guarantees that the generated genetic profile will include that gene! This is useful when your horse's breed is known for displaying certain colors; for example, the rare Splash White gene is very common in Abaco Barbs, and all Norwegian Fjords have the dun gene.

Prism has partnered up with certain breed embassies! The Appaloosa, Mustang, and Paint Horse embassies all offer discounts on Prism Images! You must mention the embassy when ordering, and you can get your images for 10mil HPD each, instead of the usual 25mil.

If you're a breed ambassador and would like to partner with the Prism Program, send a message

Additionally, check with the Colored Breeds Club each month to see if you can claim a discount through there! Prism will try and partner up with the president every term, and as long as your horse is registered with the club, you can get a free Prism Image every month! Also, as long as you mention the club, you can claim the discount price of 10mil HPD for additional images.

Next up for the program will be random somatic mutations, like Birdcatcher Spots, Lacing, or Chimera markings. These mutations occur very rarely and are completely spontaneous. Somatic means they also cannot be passed on to their foals like normal genes - however, these mutations can appear more often in family lines. Every once in a while, the Prism Generator will generate a set of genes and also alert you to the fact that your horse has one of these mutations. The process of breeding for these mutations is still being brainstormed to make sure the system preserves the rarity of these markings, however it should be possible to have a line that has a higher chance of producing mutated horses.

The program has received a lot of interest and quite a few players have joined up! I'd like to take a moment to thank you all for being so excited and ready to give Prism a try; I'm so very passionate about it and am incredibly excited to see where it goes in the long-term. It's already started to take on a life of its own, with players creating their own colored lineart for their breeds; maybe others can start selling custom images that are more breed-specific than what Prism offers? The possibilities are endless and I encourage all of them :D So thank you, thank you, thank you for appreciating all the time and love I've poured into this program!

As always, I'm here and more than ready to answer any questions about the program or equine color genetics in general! You can send me a message any time, here or to my main with questions, suggestions, comments, or concerns!

If you're currently using Prism or would like to, consider adding an icon to your page and spreading the word! The more players who participate in the program, the greater the possibilities and the more it can evolve :D Click the icon below to get a code (or copy the code from Prism's home page)!

With all my love and excitement for the future,
Mango!

How are you handling things like LWO Syndrome?

Currently for LWO/OLW, I've programmed the Breeding Prism to only take one copy of the OLW gene from the parents, just to make it easier for players. It's currently impossible for a foal to inherit both copies of the gene and therefore "die" in the program. However, I would like to implement some kind of optional challenge in the future for players who would like that level of realism/risk, and then they can delete the OLW/OLW foal. But that would require a little bit of brainstorming just so that HP doesn't start having OLW/OLW horses running around and filling the public gene pool :P
