July's Player of the Month!

A Huge Congratulations to Prynne!

Prynne (#113) has been chosen to be in this month's spotlight! Her love of the Triple Crown provided many with insight to the Racing industry and over all fun in the Forums!

......HP Questions......
1. How did you first learn about us?
I know this will be a complete shocker, but I originally played HL. :O I tried to go back years later, didn’t enjoy the changes, and found HP instead. I’m so glad I did!

2. What is your favorite thing about HP?
I really enjoy the training style and being able to build my generations, but I think my favorite part is the community. You all make this game worth playing. ♥

3. How long have you been playing for?
The “joined on” date on my old main account (#27634) is 2012-09-25. Almost nine years… where has the time gone?!

4. How did you come up with your player name?
I have had so many over the years, most notably Dulcie and Prynne. Prynne is from Hester Prynne who is the protagonist of Nathaniel Hawthorne's 1850 novel The Scarlet Letter.

5. What is your favorite breed of horse or dog to train?
Fennec foxes! ♥

6. What caused you to pick the breed(s) you train and breed?
I always pick breeds based on my interest in them which sometimes just boils down to how cute they are. LOL. I’m a huge fan of foxes, so when I saw fennec foxes were added, it was a no brainer! I’ve also trained german shepherds, russian arabians, friesians, and an assortment of others over the years.

7. How do you come up with names for your animals?
Oh, the struggle! I try to pick themes that represent things I enjoy and have enough flexibility to them to last ten generations. Right now for my fennec foxes I have dangerous/poisonous plants, celestial objects (constellations, planets, moons), horror (movies, creatures, words), and historically condemned witches. Some of these are already becoming difficult to find names for new generations... xD

8. What are your current goals on HP?
I’m simply focused on building my generations and player points at the moment. I do plan to have a major project in the far future though with a point goal of at least 25mil. I’m excited!

9. Do you have a favorite animal? (It can be your own or another player’s you admire!)
I am partial to my 2019 Mascot Grand Champion, Belladonna (#116621). However I do frequently drool over Concourse’s Gown With the Wind (#130286).

10. Who’s your go-to graphic artist or coder? Are there any services you offer?
I used to sell manipulations and the occasional layout, but it’s been quite awhile since I’ve offered these services. I high recommend Chaos Theory (#45663) for artwork. She’s absolutely amazing to work with and her art is impeccable. For coding, I’m a huge fan of Mango’s (#1802) layouts. Her work is an inspiration; they have always motivated me to push myself to get better and try new things.

11. What is your favorite Site-Wide yearly event?
Hands down, it has to be the 25 Days of Christmas. The mascot contest and easter egg hunt are very high up there for me too!

12. Which seasonal layout art is your favorite?
Autumn! ♥

......Real Life & Random Questions......
1. Where are you from?
I’m originally from northeast Massachusetts, but I live in southwest Ohio now.

2. What do you do for work?
I work in IT fielding calls and monitoring networks as a service desk analyst.

3. Do you own any horses or dogs?
I have one dog named Berlin. She’s almost 10 and a brindle shep/lab mix.

4. Do you have any other types of pets at home?
One calico cat named Monster who is about the same age. We didn’t name her. She’s actually quite sweet most of the time. Lol.

5. What are your favorite breeds of horse and dog?
Australian shepherds and german shepherds for dogs, arabians and friesians for horses.

6. Do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they?
Video games are my life (primarily MMOs, RPGs, and the occasional FPS). I also dabble in coding when the mood strikes me. I've been trying to read more lately as well, but I can’t say that’s going all too well. Oops. xD

7. What’s your favorite color?
Black, gray, teal, mint, coral, purple rhapsody.

8. What’s your favorite Holiday or Month?
Halloween and October!

9. If you could own any breed of horse, what would it be and why?
Friesian with a long flowy mane and tail. That’s always been my plan. They make me weak in the knees. ♥

10. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
Too many places to mention, honestly. If it has an ocean beach, mountain views, or an IDSP (International Dark Sky Park), I want to go desperately! If I had to pick just one though, I would pick Switzerland. That entire country is an elaborate picturesque painting brought to life.

13. What would be your dream job?
If I liked math more than I do, I would be an astrophysicist and discover the secrets of the universe. But alas.. math. LOL

14. What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Smores! ♥

15. What is something you fear?
Spiders, but I wish I didn’t. They’re honestly beautiful creatures. It’s such a visceral reaction; I can’t help it. D:

17. Any good books or comics that you’ve read recently?
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw. Netflix has the screen rights so it will probably have a movie eventually!
