Tia swimming

Tia is one of those dogs that swimming did not come naturally or at all to. She found herself jumping into what she thought was a shallow pool of water and panicked. She thrashed and tried to touch the bottom. She managed to get to the edge before I jumped in to help. Last year Sam started hydrotherapyfor heakth reasons and we got a referralfrom vets for Tia. They have built her skill and confidence from splashing all 4 walls and everyone around to calmly swimming but aiming for ramp/sides. Today she came to the beach with me and Tilly (my pony) and I had her off lead. Tilly went in deep and Tia followed. This made me super emotional knowing what a struggle it is for her mentally. It's just a shame the swimming dog freaked Tilly out and we bounded back to land rather fast.
There is a video on my FB page. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10227592325696803&id=1325374101 |
