Has to help my old man cross the rainbow bridge today alone. It was one of the hardest things I've had to do. 
Porkchop found us back in 2007. He has been with us through countless moves and even a robbery.
He escaped in august and came back to us in september think and sick. He had liver failure from not eating.
We were beating it for awhile, especailly when the mr came home for a visit. 
This past week he has spiraled down and I made the decision to help him over. I was with him until the end.
Ill miss you forever chorpop and I'm sure Ill find your random furballs through the house for a good long while.
We are having his remains cremated, so he can live inside forever with us.

It's always hard to let go of a loved one, but you did the right thing to end his suffering and he's in a better place now.

We lost my Galahad this year too. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but they let you know when it's time. We just moved and packing things up and seeing those poofs of brown fur everywhere was... hard.

awww....putting my first cat to sleep was very hard for me..i had him for 13 yrs...my mom let him slip out and he was gone for 8 months and i found him down the street at a neighbors(needless to say he was never out of my sight after that!) when we moved to south dakota he disappeared for 2 wks and managed to find his way back and he too was skinny and then were getting ready to move here to texas and he ended up getting dryland distemper...its weird how you know when somethins not right, even when everyone else thinks there's nothing wrong...I had to put him to sleep and I couldnt watch, cuz i was seriously very very emotional :(    I am a huge cat person and when i see a poor kitty dead on the side of the road it breaks my heart....anywho im sorry for youe loss...he looks like my roadie oadie, although  my kitty has sea green eyes....

we got his ashes back on wednesday.
we werent expecting anything fancy, but his remains came in a decorative box with his name engraved on the front
made us cry even more. 

And we just recieved a condolence card from our vet offices.
