You watching? What do you think of it? Have a fave character? Does Matt suit his look? Have you aligned yourself with a House? I'm watching and loving it, it's great! And my House is Velaryon. Lord Corlys is handsome af, and I was drawn to the House because one of the symbols of my city is the hippocampus. So I guess I'm biased. >_> |

On the second watch, Aemond's expression WAS very comical. The memes are absolutely to die for. "You done messed up A-A-Aemond." |

SUCH A GOOD FINALE. I didn't laugh per se when Vhagar did the thing, but I was like a disappointed mom that was all "well, that's what you get. good job. couldn't just leave it alone, could you?" Lmao

Mannnn I knew he was gonna die, but poor Luke. And what happened between Luke/Arrax and Aemond/Vhagar is interesting because both riders were commanding their dragons to "obey" and Aemond and Luke were both telling their mounts to back off. Dragons are not pets, they are not battle weapons. They are flesh and blood with sentience. I mean.... technically these two dragons have started the war. Aemond was like shit, and Luke...well hims gone. He didn't get much of a say. He should have stayed in the actual castle that is Storm's End. At least he might have had protection under guests rights. My guess is Borros just let Aemond go after Luke. He'd already gotten what he wanted, a marriage proposal for his daughters. All I gotta say is if I was Luke and I saw Vhagar parked like a 747 in Storms End I probably would've just hopped tf back on Arrax and noped tf out. |

I agree Nyt. I love that we're getting to see what dragonriding actually entails in this show. Because while we did get a few instances of Dany being unable to control hers, once Rhaegal and Viserion were out of the dragonpit in Mereen, AFAIK there were no other instances of them not obeying her. Now, though, we get to watch Viserys's advice to Rhaenyra come to life: control over a dragon is an illusion. The argument can also be made that Lucerys and Arrax had a stronger bond, due solely to the fact that they've been bonding since Arrax hatched. Whereas Aemond has only bonded with Vhagar, who's hundreds of years old and extremely experienced and battle-tested, for 6 years or so. Arrax was reacting to Lucerys's emotions and came to his defense, Vhagar just said "eff this noise" and chomped. I'm so interested to see if Aemond will own up to it in season 2, like "yeah, that happened, what of it?" kind of thing, or if we'll see some more humanization of him proclaiming it was an accident, or if it's just going to plunge us right into the beginning of the Dance. |

I'm currently reading Fire and Blood, and it is SO SO cool to get some insight into the origins of the dragons, their histories, those who had ridden them before... Georgey is a phenomenal world-builder. Something I can only aspire to in my creative-writing-student endeavours. Vhagar and Balerion are incredible beasts, and so well written. |

Oh that's good to hear, I can pick your brain about stuff! The characters he writes are so well rounded, and placed so seamlessly into the world, he is such a skilled author. Who's your favourite? |

I have read Fire & Blood, and I loved the show. It had bits that weren't like the book, but in good ways (QUEEN RHAENYS BEING LIKE MY DRAGON YOU PEONS). |
