Introducing...Project Orangey One!

She's almost here! My Generation 30 Project Pony! :D This has been in the plans for many years, and to finally be able to see the light is a bit surreal. My first EVER project! Yes, you read that right! But I've been playing for so long, how come I haven't done a project yet? I've been waiting, thinking, planning, saving, more saving, and a ton more saving! I've also been wanting it to be very meaningful for me so I can share with the rest of you all. Now it's finally time! Why Wait So Long To Announce This Project? Procrastination due to the level of heart hurt and healing involved. Trying to find the right words to type, to express how happy/sad/excited/all the emotions I am for this project. Like, having this opportunity to share how meaningful this is to me on a platform with so many wonderful people, is just inspiring to even attempt something so huge in my book! Everything had to feel right and I needed to just go for it! Generation 30?!?! Holy Cow! I know right? I'd probably be a bit further along in my lineage, but I restarted my main breed once or twice back in my early days as a player. Long before becoming a moderator, to stepping into the Admin role, and now finally as your Community Manager. My American Saddlebred Horses have been here every step along my HP journey! What a cool way to honor the breed that started it all! :) My Thought Process * I wanted a way to remember my favorite horse. * Of course I had to tie in my favorite singer, so one of his songs is involved. * At the heart of it all, a special honoring tribute to my favorite kittah. * I'm now in my 30s, reaching Generation 30 on here, and including 3 of my favorites... It just seems like it was meant to be! ~ Introducing Project Orangey One ~  August 1st, 2006-August 30th, 2022 In memory of my littlest best friend, my heart and soul kitty, my purrtato, and orange shadow. Alejate At just barely 6 weeks old she came into my life. Her and her siblings were about to be surrendered to the humane society. Luckily me and a few of my new friends were standing in the lobby waiting to fill out foster forms as the humane society had a partnership with my college and we just so happened to be living in the pet dorm at the time. While in line this lady came in with a carrier of kittens and a small child. They stood in line behind me. The lady put the carrier down on the floor and almost instantly her kid opened the door. Three little wobbly kittens darted out. This bitty orange poof went straight for me and sat on my shoe. That was it, game over. No fostering needed. We scooped the kittens up and walked out the door.Β All our lives were changed forever! It took me a little bit to figure out a name, so she was just called "Orangey One" in the meantime. The vet confirmed that she was indeed a female. Fun fact, most orange tabbies are males, so it was cool to learn that my girlie was on the rarer side of life! All kittens got a clean bill of health and lived the first couple weeks with me while my friends got all the essentials they needed for their dorm rooms. I came prepared haha! One day shortly after I was putting away laundry in my dorm room. I had Josh Groban's music playing in the background through my computer. He's my favorite singer if you haven't figured that part out yet haha! My kitten was exploring and trying to climb all over things as kittens do, then all of a sudden she got quiet. That was when I stopped what I was doing and went looking around for her. It took me a moment, but I found her. She somehow got up onto my computer desk and wedged herself between the keyboard and monitor screen and was fast asleep. The song Alejate was playing and that was that. She got her name Alejate. Ale for a short nickname. :) Fast forward throughout the last 16 years and what a whirlwind of life it has been. I am truly thankful this golden ray of sunshine was in my life for so long. She taught me so much and truly showed unconditional love. She was there for me through it all. A college educated kittah, border collie & chihuahua dog tamer, multi time cross country road-tripper, but luckiest of all my bestest little fur friend anyone could ever have. What a neat way to celebrate what would of been her 17th year and to reflect on the year of her waiting on the other side of that Rainbow Bridge. My heart. I miss you my Orangey One. ~ Introducing Her Other Half ~  My favorite breed of horse is the American Saddlebred. I fell in love with them during my time in college and now would love to own one in real life one day! I knew I wanted to do something involving horses as they have always been a part of my life in one way or another, so when college came around I chose a school that was hands on from day one. At the time I only knew Huntseat and basic Western/Recreational Trail Riding before going off to school. So I went into my freshman year knowing nothing about Saddle Seat! It quickly became my favorite riding discipline, just lots of fun, and being able to work with such amazing horses has been the icing to the cake. I learned so much! Still am learning too! Can't wait to start taking lessons again when we move out of state! One of the horses there his barn name was JJ. We became good partners as he was one of the ones I trained with the most. A bit quirky, and a goober, but overall he had such a big heart. Boy did he know when all attention was on him though. Such personality and a blast to learn from! I called him my Lover Bug haha! His show name was Santana's Restless Heart. He helped me reach a level of the horse show world I would of never even dreamed of. My instructor was awesome and coached us throughout the years and I am so thankful for the time she put into us and her choosing him to be my partner in crime. I was able to visit him a few different times after graduating and all of that. A friend who worked at the farm that JJ retired to had called me a few years ago to let me know of his Rainbow Bridge crossing. I still think about JJ a lot and all the fun and sometimes challenging memories we shared. More Info! I'd be more than happy to go into further details, answer any questions, or share any memories! (Starting in August-until Retirement or until my funds run out!) --Currently looking at being able to afford 170k-180k/ticket --Willing to negotiate if ticket prices lower or rise as time goes by --I can not pay in Upgrades, Coding/Layouts, Graphics Services --I can only pay in HPD, HPB, Training, Account Sitting Services --Every set helps, so please reach out even if you have one set to sell! Horse Show Spots! (Starting in September when horses age to 3yrs until Retirement or until my funds run out!) --Her and her mate will already have spots in 100 shows --Will look into buying limited spots to keep others in my line mostly in privates --Max of 10 entrants per show preferred --Paying no more than 500k per spot, with looking to use 2 spots per show Donations Welcome! I have been waiting for this post! I am so incredibly sorry for both of those losses, it's always so hard when they are so close and have had such an impact on your life. But what an amazing way to remember them by!Β I cannot wait to see where you get with them!  |
