I'm talking late 90's, early 00's. Sporks and toasters. Absent. Just Better. Deych. Before shockwave, before any sort of graphics aside from the really, really old ones (some of which are still on their site, which makes me laugh) and when the game was setup through cgi-bin workings...

I miss the community. Before I was a part of the "elite" group, they might not have talked to me much BUT for the most part everyone was friendly. There were always some crazies and trolls, of course. But I would sign onto AIM and immediately get invited to hl chats or auctions. It was pretty fun (at the time). There were always rude people but I think people kept a lot of it to themselves or amongst their little clique instead of bringing everyone down.

I also miss the time I spent at my BFF's house - she was my partner - we'd stay up till all hours of the morning training (before we 'figured it out' as far as scripting) and eat snacks, listen to music, play neopets on the side, write notebooks full of name ideas for horses... hahahaha. Ohhh childhood.

I didn't start until 2005. :(

Oh this one came to me last night. Does any one remember the Julian Drama? I can hardly remember it myself. But it was the last thing I remember of HL before I ran away!!

I loved the community, but I was always on the outside looking in, so to speak. So I loved watching drama unfold. The SNOB club or whatever and then the drama Julian concocted. 

I also remember being super proud of my 300k point animal and having like 500k in cash! 

horseland still has a huge community. im active on HL. i miss the old horseland. but i still like the current one

HL really isn't that big of a "community" anymore. There's a handful of players who actually do anything on there like point train. 

There are a few "cliques" that are more involved in racing now. Granted, racing was a huge thing back in 2011 as well, but there we're still a good amount of people who point trained.

And I thought you joined this year or last year, mazerunner? 

I just miss how many people use to play. I play this a lot more than I get on HL, but with how I am personally, it's just hard for me to talk to people here since everyone seems to know everyone else really we'll. 

HL was great when they actually cared to fix bugs and issues. now it's like it doesn't matter. meh.

do you remember the artist that got the "swirlies" popular? like it was a photoshop brush she created to blend into the purple backgroudn and crap, like it was all over the place, but you could always tell her work because she did like a duplicate, slightly blurred layer, and then she overlayed it?

except nicktoons is coming out with "the splat" which i watched last night, and included all the old toons, rugrats, doug, ah real monsters, etc, i watched it last night and it was awesome, too bad hl wont do that hahaha, go back to the old version 

I joined Horseland a few months before the 2008 changes. I took a hiatus in 2010,2012, & 2015. Then I came back.

Man I miss the Horseland Blog. It was such a fun read. 

I loved Just Better's picture. Wasn't there another high pointed horse who was named after the phobia of peanut butter? 

I joined HL in 2006, just before the changes in 2008. But I still remember how excited I was when a player donated me my first professional layout (I think it was Anna). I also remember being jealous of players who could afford graphics from Blue Crab, Poison, Seaside (I know there were many more but I cant for the life of me remember the names. Wasnt there a Lil Miss or something?)

I miss the big comunity and the competition (with clubs and training), but I also like the smaller comunity we currently have as if you dont know the person you've at least talked to them a few times:) Though we always love to say hi to new or returning players;) Its sad that the game used to be so much better and the owners dont care about it anymore.
