Manip Mastery Overview:

Welcome to the first Manip Mastery Match! This contest is designed for all of our talented artists on HP. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a passionate hobbyist, this contest is your chance to showcase your skills, creativity, and imagination.

How to Participate:

Create Your Entry: Ensure your entry adheres to the theme and the rules outlined below.

Submit Your Entry: 

° Upload your final piece to the contest thread as a reply.
° Include a brief description explaining your concept.

Engage with the Community:

Comment on other entries, offer constructive feedback, and engage in discussions. Part of the fun is interacting with fellow artists and learning from each other.

Submission Guidelines:

Entry Requirements:

° Your submission must include at least one horse as the main subject.
° The horse must be transformed according to the theme, through photo manipulation.
° Entries must be original works created specifically for this contest.

Allowed Software and Tools:

° Any photo editing software (e.g., Photoshop, GIMP, etc.)

September Theme:

Birds!

Your manip should revolve arounds birds, however you choose to interpret it. Should the horse have wings? Is it simply flying in the sky? Does it nest? Or is it a regular horse with bird colors - perhaps even a pair of horses where the stallion is colorful like a male bird, and the mare is duller? Does it have extra "feathers"? DOES IT HAVE FEATHERS?

The sky is the limit! (Pun intended)

Voting:

The winner will be decided by vote. Things to consider when voting: 

° Creativity: How unique and imaginative is your concept? Does it stand out?
° Technical Skill: How well-executed is the manipulation? Are the elements seamlessly blended?
° Theme Adherence: Does the piece effectively capture the essence of this months theme, while maintaining the horse as the focal point?

Rules:

° Originality: All entries must be original and created by the artist specifically for this contest. Plagiarism or the use of uncredited stock images without permission will result in disqualification.
° Submission Limit: Each participant may submit only one entry.
° Conduct: Be respectful towards fellow participants. Any form of harassment, bullying, or negative behavior will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification.
° Deadline: All entries must be submitted by the 25th of September.

Prizes:

The person who receives the most votes will receive 100 mil HPD and a ribbon stating they're the winner of the months challenge!

Timeline:

° Contest Start Date: 1st of September 
° Submission Deadline: 25th of September 
° Voting Period: 25th of 30th of September
° Winners Announced: 30th of September

NO! The photo manipulation is yours to keep, sell or throw away as you wish. I do NOT keep the rights of any manipulations you create - this is simply for fun!

Are submissions turned in anonymously or no?

Oh that's a nice suggestion trig! I was thinking we'd have them entered in this forum post, but maybe it'd be nice for it to be anonymous? What do you guys want? 

Everyone has their unique style but I think it would be pretty neat for the voting aspect :)

Regarding keeping it anonymous or not, I have chosen not to do it this first round. It is a bit too close for the entry start and I'm not sure how it would work in a good way, considering copyrights/credits etc. I will discuss it with a mod for the October challenge. :) 

Suggestion for the credit concerns, they could be on the image like normal and just have a standard font family (something generic that everyone will have) that lists everything but the artist name.

My concept was basically a horse making it's way to heaven and turning into white birds. 

It is now September 1st and the M³ is officially started!

Aeon yours is BEAUTIFUL and I love the heaven concept that you decided to go with!! :)

Damn these are both so good and so different. Love Aeon's concept, and the way that Amber's blended the peacock wings/feathers and painted little bits of down and fluff on the horse to match is just perfect (also his lil crown! ♥).

(I'm never gonna complain about doing standard wings again because those peacock feathers look difficult.)
