When we got a dog, we needed a bigger water bowl, so as a temporary solution, we just put a mixing bowl down and filled it with water. Well, this temporary solution became more of a permanent thing. Until I finally put my foot down, bit the bullet, and just bought them a new waterer.

I found this cute little Mason-jar looking one at PetSmart, and they can't spill it, and it holds 4 gallons so it doesn't run out without us noticing everyday. While it was filling the bowl part, it was making a bubbling sound, and Noodle (kitten) was totally facinated.

He needed to know how the water was coming out NOW.

I had a cat who loved the glub glub glub sound when it would refill the bowl, so he would sit there and splash the water OUT of the bowl just so it would refill and make the noise! That was messy, haha.

This just suddenly reminded me..I used to have a food dish very, very much like that. But I had to get rid of it because my cat Garfield would always reach waaaaay into the back of the dish and paw all the food to the front until it spilled over the edge...and then none of the cats would touch the spilled food on the floor.. -_- He just thought that was the greatest thing haha

omg I never noticed his little nails.

We tried to do one of these for our cats but Peep wouldn't use it and Mordred would apparently rather drink out of the toilet.
