I thought we could start HP's very first book club.  I just starting reading fantasy romance...finished Fourth Wing a week ago.  (im very late to the party on that one)  but thought other HPers would have read it and we could talk about different fantasy books...Romantasy, Paranormal romance, Young Adult Fantasy, and everything Booktok famous. 

Books i have read since October include:  Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, Dragons Kiss by E.A Winters, and Dragonmark by Sherrilyn Kenyon.

Quicksilver is really good, it was a 5 star read for me!  I just heard they are going to turn it into a TV show!

I heard that as well!! which is what made me want to start it.  

I am still reading broken Bonds by EA Winter, its book 2 in that 4 book series (Dragon Kiss book 1) i don't know i can't seem to finish it.  And i want to because it was only on KU until end of nov so once i delete it off my kindle i will have to pay to read them

I got to book 3 in the 'Bonds That Tie' Series before I stopped. Was definitely NOT my normal type of book to read but I am glad I still tried!

I am now reading A Day of Fallen Night

definetly fantasy but no romance so far and I do not think there is supposed to be any really

Fourth Wing was what got me into reading fantasy romance. I will say that I wasn't really jazzed about it. The plot was just enough to keep me interested, but then I DNF'd Iron Flame. But it will hold a special place as the book that even got me into this genre.

The series that I'm absolutely in love with is the Kingdom of Lies series (book one is A Court This Cruel & Lovely). It's like... an elevated ACOTAR. 

At the moment I'm trying to get through Terragnata & the Heir of the Earth (TikTok find), but it's a bit of a struggle because the writing style is so bland. But we shall see.

I found so many books that i want to try reading from tiktok.  I just need to stop myself from buying them and make sure they are not on Kindle Unlimited or Kobo Unlimited lol 

I did buy Murtagh and Games Gods play as they had such pretty pretty edges!!

I also bought Games Gods Play because of the edges LOL I want to read Murtagh but I'd have to re-read all of Eragon because I don't remember a lick of it.

I just finished The Courting of Bristol Keys and I loved it! Quicksilver is next on my list as I'm currently in the middle of The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut which is more sci-fi than romantasy.

I just paid for my preorder of North is the Night by Emily Rath because I loved her hockey romance books. This one is Norse vibes.

I need to go back and read Iron Flame; I got ~80 pages in and went meh. But I want to read the third so that's also on the TBR lol

I'm currently reading "The Songbird and the Heart of Stone" by Carissa Broadbent. This is a 'spin off' of the Seprent and Wings of Night duology by the same author. I too got into fantasy by reading "Fourth Wing" and this duology was my next read. IT IS AMAZING. 

Ugh Serpent and the Wings of Night is still one of my favs! I got the signed edition of The Songbird but I'm unsure if I'm ready to read anothe rcliffhanger book right now and then wait for the second book

Throne of Glass series is also good, I have not completed it though.  I'm not sure if they are on Kindle Unlimited.  The Ever King is a good book too, it's Pirate Fae!

I am with Adonis 4th wing wasn't bad but I did not really enjoy iron flame though I did finish it!

so many of these books mentioned I have never heard before!

Do all prime subscriptions normally include it? Because I use audible and pay for it separately from prime. I didn't know if they had made any changes to their system!

I am currenlty listening to Iron Flame, and the person reading it is reading it very quickly! its kinda annoying

Maybe try slowing the narrator down. I speed them up a lot but every once in awhile they speak quickly already! So I have to do the opposite. 

doesn't give the option to slow it down. i can speed it up....i just think this narrator is the one talking really fast.  I will need to buy the book and do a reread on it.  I am already on chapter 11 ;)  and i still need to finish Quicksilver for my bookclub lol

It's not quite romantasy (there are romantic elements and the first book probably feels more romantasy than the second and third), but the Daevabad trilogy by Shannon Chakraborty is excellent if you like fantasy with a good dash of politics, intrigue, action, a little bit of yearning, and (esp as the books progress) excellently written and well-developed characters who each stand out in their own right. If you're looking for tons of spice and romantic action, this isn't it. But they're brilliantly written books with an incredibly rich world and cast.
