Okay, I know I’m obsessed, but my battle song will forever be “Wait for It” from Hamilton.

I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression for decades, and from the opening notes the song helps center me.

for me it would be "Archangel" by Two Steps From Hell. although it has no lyrics, i've chose this as its a powerful and cinematic orchestral piece that blends soaring choirs, dramatic strings, and thunderous percussion to create an epic and intense atmosphere. 

also, the track builds with a sense of grandeur and urgency, evoking images of heroic battles, legendary warriors, and triumphant victories. with its dynamic shifts and emotional depth, "Archangel" perfectly captures the spirit of adventure and determination.

whenever i listen to this piece, i feel powerful - like i can do anything.

MY battle song would be "This is Me" from The greatest showman. It always picks me up after a rough day,  Especially during covid isolation a few years ago, it reminded me to keep being who I am.

I have a couple songs that play continiously in my car. Never Be the Same by Jessica Mauboy and 'Til You Can't and The Ride by Cody Johnson. 

both songs for me (i get emotional just thinking about both songs) this past year has been extremely hard on me and my family with my breast cancer diagnoses at only 38, chemo and hormone theraphy and then surgery to remove my breasts.  The healing that comes with that or i guess in my guess not healing as i still don't think i have really acknowledge what 2024 was like. 

Till You Can't is about cherising each moment you have with your family.  I lost my dad to Heart Diease and what i belive is the failure of the health care system.  My dad was my (can't put into words who he was to me) he past away peacefully on March 19, 2020 at 10:35 am with me by his side. 

The Ride is about imbracing the journey of life with the good and the bad and celebrating the wins and personal growth.  For me this song tells the story of my journey with my horses the up and downs and learning to just Be in the moment with them and embracing the challenges that come with relearning how to ride and being present with them.

Fight Song by Rachel Platten

This song got me through the worst times of my life. I had a serious battle with substances a few years ago and some of those early clean days when I just wanted to give up this song pushed me through. It was an uphill battle but I won the war and forever grateful for all of the music that helped me along the way. Love this idea and the playlist!
