Ok here me out i know this isn't really ideal and there are other ways for people to "earn" money on here but here is the thing.

Not eveyone can make graphics or code to earn HP dollars.

Another thing is not everyone is in the market to buy upgrades all of the time..

Some people may sell private shows for money but you really only make decent HP dollars if you have at least 10 or more upgraded accounts.

I think this is a reasonable suggestion you can pay X amount of real money to get X amount of HP dollars.

Once in a blue moon, Sam will sell HPD as part of a promotional deal. Like over the holidays, etc.

We don't want to implement a permanent buy money option because we don't want this to become, to borrow a term from the gaming community, a "pay to win" site.

If you want to "buy" HPD, then the upgrades are the way to go. Upgrade prices have always been the benchmark of the HP economy as the most stable priced good/service over time.

Chao is 100% correct!

Also, we have made a big effort to deflate the economy and bring prices down to a more manageable dollar.  Selling HPD would only inflate it again, and cause the dirastic gap between rich and poor.  I would like to think we are at a very happy medium right now, and would like to stay here.  ☺

Yeah I wouldn't want a permanent option to buy HPD. I can't code to save myself and I don't do graphics anymore either, and I sell upgrades when I can afford to which lately, isn't often, but I still wouldn't want to buy it I don't think.

I'm really happy with the economy right now. Things sell a bit slower than they used to, but everything is much more evened out and it seems like a good place to be. It's crazy to think that horse and dog ticket prices were creeping up to HL level. The prices of things will still rise, but it's going to rise at a much more steady and managable rate instead of being good one day and outrageous the next like it used to be. Adding the option to buy HPD would just take us right back to where we were I think.

horse tickets got almost up to 600k at one point.. which was ridiculous :P

I would be opposed to selling HPD on a permanent basis for all of the above reasons, however Sam occasionally will auction off packages of HPD so you can definitely look out for that in the future.

I agree with all that has been said!

I really want to avoid HP being a site where people can just pay real money to get way, way ahead and not give anything back to the community in return. Like selling upgrades, yes, you're basically buying HPD with USD, but then someone is getting an upgrade for it which in turn makes more shows available, more tickets available, etc.

When I do sell HPD, though, I sell it for the rate at which upgrades are selling for. So right now 6 month upgrades are going for about 150 mill, which would mean I would be selling HPD at about $10 mill HPD per $1 USD. Which is $10 per 100 mill. In other words, it's exactly what you'd get from selling upgrades in auctions!

Basically, if people aren't buying upgrades, they're not buying much. If the cost of upgrades go down, it's because the cost of everything else in the game is going down.
