Omg... baking is one of my favorite forms of de-stressing. Plus, after when I get stressed out again... I can stress eat! (only halfway joking on the last part there). My favorite cookie is an old family recipe that would get me disowned if I shared. So I will share another (similar) recipe (that I often give out as 'my' recipe to peope who ask, like my in-laws). These are close and taste almost as good.

Norwegian Kringle - 4 cups flour 1 cup sugar 4 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 3 tablespoons oil 1 cup sour milk - can be replaced with regular milk and 4 tablespoons powdered buttermilk or 2 tablespoons vinegar 1 egg 1/4 tsp salt Mix and knead like bread dough. You may have to add flour to roll it, but only use what's necessary. Cut off a piece about the size of a ping pong ball and roll it (with floured hands) until it's about 10-11 inches long with the thickness of a fat pencil. Shape like a small pretzel (or in a figure 8 like this: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/35325178297688146/ ). Bake at 350* about 7-10 minutes until bottom is slightly browned. I love them with milk, the older generations of my family slather them in butter. Do as you so desire. =3 |

sour milk? As in milk that has gone bad? Or is this something you buy at the store? |

Yes, actual sour milk. :P I don't think we've ever actually made it that way haha, that just what the recipe says. We almost always go the powdered buttermilk route. |

These cookie sandwiches are one of my favorite things to make for the holidays. I've also made them with red velvet mix and they're super festive looking. Chocolate Cookie Sandwiches! from Taste Of Home |

I suck at making cookies. Cakes and Brownies I'm okay at but cookies and shortbreads are a no-no. These all look so scrummy though! |

We just do your classic Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie recipe with white frosting from a can that we add food coloring to:

We also use various christmas themed cookie cutters and docorate the cookies accordingly. Last year I made a Nigel Thornberry cookie, it was smashing. ;)
