How Did You Get Your Name?

Everyone on HP always has unique names, how did you come up with yours? Mine is just my actual name, haha. |

same here aphro, i've always been denim and a week after starting playing HP I wanted to change it but already branded the horses etc =/ grr |

Mine is actually a music term :) I'd been playing clarinet for going on 7 years now, 8 at the start of next summer. It was a term that was used in a price of music I played for an honor band, in which I was enlisted first chair (not bragging or anything.. Lol) but anyways, it was a term that meant "the first time". Well anyways, the part it went back to was my solo, and it was the first time I was recognized by collegiate players for a performance (mind you this was in middle school) so it was something that always stuck with me. And I intend this to be the first and the last time I change my name so I saw it fit :3 |

On HL I used to be Arion which is from Ancient Greece. Then in like 2008 (maybe) I changed my name to Intrigue which is the model car of drive. I later shortened it to just trig :)

I was originally Blink on HL, but then HL made it illegal to have "link" anywhere, so I changed it to Blitz. Comes from a mare I liked when I worked at a TB farm for the summer, Blitz Wedding.  |

My name comes from my 15 year old Doxie mix I lost 3 years ago :) His Name was Copper, and well we had the best moments so CopperMoments it was :) |

I speak Arabic and I wanted people to know I'm friendly and 'inaya' in arabic means solicitude or friendly so that's why I decided on that. XD - INA! |

My name was supposed to be Gail. At the last moment my mom changed it to Karen. My real last name is hard to say and to spell, so I went with the non de plume Kayla for my first name and changed the spelling of Gayle to be aesthetically pleasing with it. It is my name on every game I have ever played just about.  |

I got my name starcrossed from one of my favorite books that I read at the time by the same title, by Josephine Angelini. and well, I just added the ` .. not sure why, lol. |

I basically spent time making up names by putting letters together and see what ones I liked. I had things like Erai, Razira, Liralea but I settled for Rhixus because I like R and H together and I like Xs haha. :)But I have found when signing up for different things or just on google that its not only mine anymore, which is a bit upsetting. |

I used to be obsessed with the band Green Day (this is was probably 7 or 8 years ago) when I started on HL and wanted to think of a cool name that would be okay with all the "elitist" clubs back then & I decided I would mix my 2 favorite things. So Sassafras from Green Day's song, "Sassafras Roots" and Tango who is my first and only horse (who I had owned for 10 years and just recently sold :/ ).I had never played a SIM game before so it was the first time I had to make up a player name for anything. However for non-SIM games I used either xxtgxx (Tango shortened to "tg" with 2 sets of x's because it looked cool and everyone was doing it) or TangoRocks. That's why my DA name is xxtgxx. I still use all these names to this day. |

I was Rage, which fit me perfect as I used to be an angry person. Somebody decided to use my name and I decided I don't suit the name anymore. I have always been facinated with mythology And I love the element water, so I decided to become Kalypso who is a nymph in greek mythology associated with water. |

I don't even remember where mine came from... I have always been Moorf :P. All my years on HL, and now all my years on HP! Also, Cimi, I think I knew this but must have forgotten that you used to be Thess on HL! Now I feel like an idiot for not remembering you :(.  |

I got my name from one of my friends Arabian farms in cali..It was called Azalee Arabians..i just changed a letter..ive been Azalie since HL as well but my first couple names there were Meanwhile Back at the Ranch and Painting the World of Quarter Horses and Carousel Farms...and something else that had the acronym of SWAT...weird names i know! lol Thought of switching it up a bit..but i doubt it seeing as most of my horses are branded with azalie  |

I don't think I've answered this before....Sinika (which was my name on here for like 4 years) comes from a mix of my nicknames. Sin, which was my WoW name, and Kika, which is what I'm called irl. (my rl is Marika, my little sis couldn't pronounce it when she was a babe so she always said Keekah)Freia's from the goddess in Norse Mythology, always been fascinated by Norse Mythology as I live in the remnants of it (got a viking burial gravesite like 100 meters from my apartment) and I just love the name.  |

I haven't been Mouse for very long. When I first joined HL, I was Free Rein, I think because I needed a name and someone suggested it? I didn't like it, and not long after, became Gunya. Gunya is the name of my best friends little stock pony mare,who I still rave about to this day, and spelled correctly 'Gunyah', it is a type of shanty or 'home' in an Aussie Indigenous language. It seemed rather fitting. My HL main account ended up being shared with my cousin, and instead of being Gunya and 'cousin', we just kept using it. After a while, I picked a new name 'Fouillis' (another whacky friend suggestion), and it was Gunya with Fouillis and 'cousin'.I still used Gunya when I first joined HP, and was extremely reluctant to change it (it had been mine since 2002 after all!), but the 'darkness' surrounding it was making me miserable, so I did. Mouse is my horse's ironic nickname, so I ran with that. Kind of wishing I went with his actual name now - Tristabrave (my dA), or my forum alias, 'Mountainpony'. Oh well. |
