I'm Saving For A Real Horse!
VictorySoup (Main) December 4th, 2016 12:26:53am 50 Posts |
I've decided that I'm almost completely stable enough financially to start saving for a real life horse. I'm so excited! It won't be for at least six months, but I can't hold in my excitement at all. I have a ton to learn about real horses though. I used to know everything about them but with life... well, researching can never hurt. I have a breed in mind. I just hope they don't suddenly become extremely popular like Vanners and get out of my price range. Lol |

Exciting! It is out of my price range... and will be for at least a few years :/ But my eventual goal is having one of my own too. What breed are you looking at? Do you have a specific horse already in mind? |

That's so great! I wish I could buy a horse but all the monthly expenses that come with it, I still don't make enough money to keep up with it :( Make sure to post pictures when you finally buy it! |

I'm looking at Bashkir Curlies. I'd really like a non-grey one as I hear they attract dirt like crazy. So, I'll probably end up with a grey one. Lol. The expenses scare me a bit, but I've got a few plans. I'm staying with my grandmother until she can get into senior housing. Once she gets into housing, I can move into my bus. I'll be converting that into an rv. Then I won't have to worry about paying rent, which is super expensive in Colorado right now. That frees up several hundred dollars. Not to mention the fact that my grandmother eats $500 or more in groceries every month. I don't spend that in three on myself. There are several ways to cut down expenses but it's a lot of sacrifices. |

So awesome! I almost got a horse myself recently, but then I was like I don't know much at all about horses so I really need to learn before I can get one! |

Azalie, I'll be boarding for a year or two. Should probably learn how to properly care for one before doing it all by myself. I'm hoping to learn how to ride a horse by then as well. I remember very little from my summer of lessons. Khaleesi, what kind were you thinking about getting? |
